unpopular opinion: let's be serious, ruby isn't necessarily masc.

i honestly think some of y'all are just going "oh, strong personality + lesbian + doesn't put up with men = masculine butch!" which, like. just isn't always true. gender expression isn't determined by your other traits.

i mean, i get it, look at her in her work uniform:

but look at her in her casual clothes, aka the outfit she interviewed in and again wore during her "date" with penelope:

guys this is not necessarily a butch. this is not a masc lesbian T0T. i know we love the butch x femme dynamic but her and nicole are not it lol

Nicole (Bistro Huddy) FASD headcannons cause it's cannon that her mom drank while pregnant with her

She started talking late but after she started she never stopped

She grew up always being a bit behind in school

She tried at first but then started to just give up and play the role of the popular girl who doesn't care about school

She'd get guys to do her homework or let her cheat off of them to cover up how she was struggling

She's always had memory problems

She got really good at lying because she got so used to making up stuff to hide how much she was forgetting

She wears contacts and is super impulsive and easily distractable

If she were to try to listen to Terry's long talks or follow the instructions he gives her she would struggle a lot but she doesn't respect him enough for that to be a problem 💅

She thought it was just ADHD at first but complaining to Ruby about how many ear infections she gets Ruby started to connect the dots and suggested that maybe her mother's drinking actually did have an effect on her

She got SO angry at the idea that she might have FASD

Their fight was a whole thing the next day at Bistro Huddy

Nicole was doing as much as she could to piss of the kitchen, putting in the wrong orders, getting customers to get modifications on their food

Finally they were able to talk about it

Joey: "Why'd you've been doing every possible thing to get on my bad side today! What are you fighting with Ruby about now?" Ruby: "I lightly suggested that her mother's drinking could have had an affect on her and she flipped out" Nicole: "Don't you dare tell people that, they'll think I'm like disabled or whatever" Joey: "stop having a stick up your ass about it" Trick: "Yeah, I'm just glad you weren't the one to carry me or else I'd definitely have that disorder" Joey: "Go run some food!" Nicole: "ughh!" Ruby: "There's nothing wrong with it, baby"
