Day 4/100 for #100daysofpractice plus a bonus #percussiontipoftheday Some people find it difficult to remember all of their rolled rudiments, but I assure you it's a piece of cake! The first step is to make sure you're always practicing your rolled rudiments in a 16th note base. Starting on the basic 5 stroke roll, our pattern is going to be: 1 e +, 2e + and so on. Our open and/or closed rolls will be applied to the downbeat and the second partial in this case, allowing the fifth note to land on the upbeat. When moving upwards in the amount of rolls we're adding (7 stroke, 9 stroke, etc.) the place where we end is going to move one partial each time. So our 9 stoke roll will end on the "a", our 11 stroke will end on the next downbeat, and so on. Hope this helps! #adamsstate #adamsstatepercussion #adamsstatemusic #adamsstateuniversity #blackswamp #blackswamppercussion @blackswamppercussion #percussion #percussionist #percussionlife #percussionista #percussionists #drums #drummer #drumming #drumroll #rudimentaldrumming #rudiments #music #musician #musicianlife #classicalmusic #classicalmusician #classicalpercussion #concertpercussion #orchestra #chambermusic #chambermusician #usethatmetronome #metronome (at Adams State University - Music Department)
