THE GIRLYPOPS ARE FIGHTING 🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️🗣️
hey im not too invested in Rufus in the Professor Layton franchise but I think Touch Tone Telephone fits him kinda too well (has been listening to lemon demon again)
Characters that have never met, but would be the best of friends
Part 2:
Anton Herzen and Rufus Aldebaran
What if the room Rufus Aldebaran was frozen in was actually located in a place that would one day become Folsense?
He is kept safe for many years, but one day some rich Duke decides to mine for gold and unleashes a toxic gas that destroys the entire town.
The men responsible for watching Aldebaran end up dying, including the others he was frozen with.
Poor Aldebaran spends the next fifty years sleeping alone until the machine malfunctions and he is woken up early.
All alone and confused, Aldebaran decides to make his way to an abandoned castle in the distance.
When he makes his way inside, he immediately runs into a strange blonde man dressed as a vampire.
Anton mistakenly believes that this is the man Sophia left him for and immediately challenges him to a duel. Rufus was already in a bad mood, so he agrees.
The two then engage in a homoeotic sword fight for hours. Since neither of them have any self control, they end up destroying the entire town.
Far away from the mines, the hallucinations wear off and Anton turns into an old man. Rufus laughs at him, only for his years to catch up and he turns old too.
Since both are too old to deal with this, they decide to stop fighting and so something else. What do old people like to do? Bowling? Yeah, the two start bowling together and talk about the good old days.
When Katia arrives, she finds the two old man doing a crossword together in the rubble of the castle.
She takes them home, they move in together and they spend their time building bird houses and yelling at kids to get off their lawn.
"its time to forget the mistakes of the past and start making the mistakes of the future"
Rufus Aldebaran
The double tragedy of Rufus Aldebaran and Drake Dellendar
Aka the unluckiest antagonists in the entire Layton Series
Don't bother watching the anime, this is all the information you need to know about them.
Our story begins 100 or so years ago. Our protagonist Earl Drake Dellendar is enjoying a lovely dinner party. Unfortunately his wife Milaine has to ruin it all. By dying. She's dead. Can't take her anywhere.
But then a mysterious figure bursts into the room. Oh my! It's famed detective Rufus Aldebaran!
Why is he here? Pretty sure his name wasn't on the guest list. But no matter! A crime has been committed and he is here to solve it!
Immediately Rufus decides to assert authority over Drake by kissing his dead wife on the lips. Tasty.
Rufus then turns to Drake and says, "Yeah. Pretty sure you did this."
Drake says he didn't. Rufus says he did. Unfortunately the police are most likely to believe the sexy detective over the ugly square headed millionaire.
But Rufus is like, "You know what, Delly boy? Give me money and I'll change my mind."
Drake awkwardly agrees and the chef is arrested instead.
I guess the Earl found being blackmailed really hot, because he and Rufus became really close after that.
They even got cute matching portraits of them painted.
#couplegoals
To cut a long story short, Drake found the totally not Azran relics that allows you to be frozen in time.
This is good because Drake has just been diagnosed with an Absolutely Terrible Incurable Disease that doesn't have a name but will definitely kill you.
(Funny. I thought that only affected women.)
Drake wants to be frozen until a cure is discovered. His son Dylan joins him and so does his toy boy Aldebaran. Not really sure why.
They are cared for by a bunch of priests who will keep them safe until they're ready to emerge.
Unfortunately for Drake the priests are stupid and accidentally kill him and his son.
No offense to Drake but this is the funniest thing in the entire anime.
Imagine doing all this planning for a hundred years only for some idiot to make a mistake during maintenance and you're dead.
I'm just imagining his body laying sprawled out on the ground, his big booty in the air, surrounded by concerned priests. What a way to go.
Anyway. Rufus is fine. Sort of. His face got all messed up.
So he's alive and walking around. He gets into a swordfight with Layton for some reason bla bla bla.
But then Layton hits him with a bombshell: The comet will actually hit the Earth in 120 years time.
......
Sorry, did I not mention that Rufus predicted that a comet would hit earth in modern times? I didn't? My bad. That was really important information.
Basically Rufus finds out that his calculations were wrong by a hundred years. That's a big oopsie on his part.
So Drake asks Layton "What are we gonna do?"
And Layton says "Uhhhh. A hundred years is a long time away. I'm sure someone else will do something about it. Probably."
Problem solved!
Realising that everything that happened was completely pointless, Rufus bellyflops into the Thames and dies.
His death is just as undignified and unintentionally hilarious as Drake's.
And that is the tale of Drake Dellendar and Rufus Aldebaran. The men who tried to do so much but ended up doing nothing.
(Actually they did do one thing. They single handedly destroyed the farming industry in Southampton.)
