i first came across Tintera’s book “Ruined” after searching for royalty books online. i was looking for romance and royalty and this book did not let me down!
i absolutely loved reading from em’s perspective who is a strong, empowering female lead. she is absolutely fearless and a master with the sword. her romance with the prince made me swoon and i enjoyed seeing how things unfolded with each new novel. speaking of each new novel, i appreciated the added perspectives and diverse representation. several new characters were introduced in books 2 & 3 who identified as part of the LGBTQ+ community. i LOVED seeing their storylines play out as the novel progressed, especially their dealings with romance. i also loved the inclusion of all different skin tones and topics like genocide, war, toxic living situations, painful relationships, coming to terms with trauma, forgiveness, and loss. i appreciated how these topics were woven into the storyline along with bits of humor and romance. i think that there is a lot to be learned from these books and i definitely recommend them to lovers of young adult fantasy and royalty romance.
