Personality: Rulari views the Hemospectrum as a way to sort better trolls from the worse ones and comes off as rude and bossy to lowbloods. Although she believes strongly in this system, the troll Disney romance plots she likes are ones where one of the trolls are lower on the spectrum. The movies had come out before the Empress stopped creation of these movies because they “promoted false ideals”. Deep down, Rulari wants the world to be like the movies. Full of magic, romance, irregardless of blood, and kingdoms. Her sea-dweller ego stands in the way. To others, she doesn’t show the side of her that yearns for these things. Rulari is very prone to temperament issues as she will blow up at anyone who she views is trying to belittle her in any way shape or form. Of course, this comes from insecurity. Simply, she is a bossy meanie tsuntsun who secretly wants to be a Disney princess.

I would be interested to hear more about how this “what I’m supposed to think” vs “what I want it to be like” sort of thing works. Does the bossy attitude come naturally, or is she just trying too hard to act like she thinks she’s supposed to?

There are a few places where I start thinking “ehh, a little similar to trolls we already have” but she’s different enough that there’s not anything super huge to complain about.

Rulari(Megalopyge opercularis, southern flannel moth) Noctui is rather soft-spoken, much like Somato, however, he simply doesn't like to be very loud. Despite this, he's sort of a showoff and a self-proclaimed artist, though his 'art' is mostly just annoyingly bright splotches of paint on canvas. He wears a large coat that is pleasant to the touch, and boy does he like to get in people's personal space.

Mellie(Greek melli, meaning honey, Apis mellifera, honey bee) Nettle, a charming girl who enjoys cooking. Small and cute, however, does not equate any less harsh than the cruelty Nettles are known for. Somewhat scatterbrained, kind of pushy, and very concerned with cleanliness. Aureus(meaning golden in Latin) Lavois, an active and reckless 'scientist' whose only goal is to find out what the most exciting experiment is, as long as it doesn't hurt him. Missing an eye and a few fingers on his left hand after a particularly bad accident, and had to be taken in for culling by his now-matesprit Adamas. He Always cApitAlizes A And U, it bein' the element symbol for gold 'n All. Pre-scratch Alternia knew him as Alchemist Goldeye.

Viridi(Amanita viridis, death cap mushroom) Batrac, ??? Pre-scratch Alternia knew him as The Virtuoso.

Rissan(crisser, meaning to screech in French) Pierus, a tone-deaf girl who thinks she's the best singer in the world. She's not. Pre-scratch Alternia knew her as The Minstrel and Lyricist Harmonia.

Oxcida(nitrous oxide, laughing gas) Itrous is a cool and collected girl who tends to pick her friends out of the absolute worst people she can find. She thrives on being a sort of mother to the group, and is very Machiavellian in keeping them in line.

Adamas(meaning unbreakable in Greek) Dimant, a beautiful seadweller who is very generous and kind, though somewhat sickly. She took Aureus in for culling after his accident, and the two became matesprits. Replaces all I's w*th aster*sks. Pre-scratch Alternia knew her as Altruist Paragona.
