Forgot to mention...
I stopped by the special fun run event at Port City Brewing last night, partly to network and get the word out about breakoutrunning, and partly to enjoy some really great post-run beer. It was frigid out there, 20s and super-windy, but it was only 3.3 mile trot, over before you knew it. It was quite a sight at the start, seeing all these lights from headlamps bouncing along through a pitch-dark industrial park and then an even darker park trail. I wish I had time to snap some pics but I was too busy chatting with lots of cool folks. Anyway it was a great time, cosponsored by the brewery and Pacers Alexandria (where katebikerun works, she wasn't there though). Apparently they will do more of these in the spring time. Looking forward to that!
Wow, the parallels I see between myself and this woman. Good but not quite good enough in college. And yet she is still driving hard to be her best (though she’s much younger and faster than me). And she’s a beer head. How could I not root for her?
