Ablaze in yellow. Shoes on. Loud mind. Butterflies. Then smiles, joy, shared. --- A great big bundle of nerves before this one. Isn't that silly? And then of course the moment I was there, the club members are so delightfully friendly and welcoming and I ran around with last year's winner (who would turn out to be this year's winner also). --- This is a mysterious type of handicap race. That means one of the organisers has meticulously stalked race results and Strava profiles to predict what your individual finish time will be. The 'winner' is then the person who beat *themselves*, their individual own time, by the most seconds. This is all mysterious beforehand and only revealed after running at prize giving. I adore the history, the chatter, the generations of people involved in this and the laughter over cups of tea while results are realises. For a 7.8 kilometre run James predicted I'd finish in 33 minutes, 30 seconds. The result? 33 minutes, 30 seconds. To the very second. I'll get a cup too! 😍🏆🏃🏼♀️ #wellingtonscottish #saturdays #speed #runventures #runbeams #goteam #rampantlions #yellow #runwellington #novella #haiku
