My scrap pile has been overrunning its basket(s), so I decided it's time to just make some scrap blocks and figure out what i'm doing with them later.

I'm partly starting to prep for an art market in November, and figure i will make use of these. Someone suggested book covers for sketchbooks/notebooks, so I may just get some bookbinding supplies soon. 🤔

What would you want to see made out of them?

I made this holiday table runner for some friends that recently bought a house. They weren't going to have the funds for Christmas decor this year, so I wanted to make something halfway between a housewarming gift, and holiday decor.

I made some minor changes to the pattern due to time constraints, but I really do like how it came out, and they did too. I almost want to make another for myself...

126 charm squares (5" sq.) turned into 2" hexagons later...

I've been poking at these for months just for something to do with my hands. I said I would start to turn them into something once I finished this most recent charm pack, so time to start on that.

I decided it was about time to add knitting to my craft repertoire.

I'm starting out with a scarf, but I'm wondering if I should have made it wider in the first cast on, but I'm not undoing this progress, so it is what it is. Either way, it will be delightful to have added this skill, and I'm hoping to work my way up to gloves. Eventually.

This one's a few months old now, but here's a dress I threw together this summer.

This is another piece I'm planning on teaching early next year for my day job, so I made a sewing version to stay at work, and a serger version for myself out of this darling floral.

It went together like a dream, and it's sooooo comfy to wear, but I still think I need to go back and raise the sleeve hem, and possibly make a different colored belt. I think the pattern needs something to break up the floral a little.

I'm planning on making another version of this dress with a lower tier on the skirt, out of a burgundy velvet, and black details om the neckline and belt.

Pattern is The Westcliff Dress by Friday Pattern Company. I highly recommend their patterns as very easy to follow, and inclusive sizing options. This particular pattern goes up to a 4X.

This is a sample for a class I'll be teaching next year, about how to make a glitter filled vinyl pouch! ✨️

I learned a lot during my first run through of the project, and I think I need to make a few more just to get the ideas down. Plus I want to use a few different styles of glitter to see what turns out looking best.

I accepted an educator position at my day job, so I'll be doing a lot of sewing for class samples and future classes.

Today's adventure included making my own lace-edge trim since we didn't have what I needed for the project on hand. I even finished the project already, but since I stitched the ribbon on wrong, I have to fix that before I take photos. 😬
