Happy Saturday!
Didn't manage to get up as early as I wanted but it wasn't horrendously hot out. In fact it was reeeeally good weather for running in a vest and the breeze was so nice and cool that it made the sun bearable even for a tomato-faced ginger.
No big hills today, my legs have been really tired and achey all week so I stayed on the flatter levels of the dene. Avg pace was slightly better than Monday and 5k was 2 mins faster so that's something! Really proud of myself for getting up and out, I've been wanting to run more often even if that means shorter distances, slower paces and flatter routes, I just want to be a little more consistent and improve my stamina! Anyway this was a lovely start to the day ☀️
I did make the mistake of letting the endorphins make me think I was brave enough to do the grocery shopping so Matthew could get on with his dissertation though 🤦🏼♀️ Got myself all dressed (in JEANS! I regretted it as soon as I got out the door) and when I got to the supermarket the queue was huge, people were acting like assholes, I was also acting like an asshole bc I was so anxious, a lady shouted at me bc I took a wrong turn and ended up trying to go down an aisle the wrong way.. It was pretty traumatic 😂 BUT I dealt with it quite well - came home and did headspace immediately after putting everything away and it really helped me to put it behind me and not dwell on it. So mentally it was a great exercise in not ruminating and blowing stuff out of proportion and letting it ruin the rest of a perfectly good day.
Currently listening to Mistajam on the radio - highlight of my saturdays at this point - having a little desk boogie and planning essay 2. Looking forward to bean burrritos for dinner and a catch up phone call with Nanna Ann 🤗
Hope everyone is coping and I highly recommend Headspace even if you just do the 10 day free trial, mindfulness is a really really helpful thing to practice atm!
