👣BAREFOOT👣 As soon as I take my shoes off and start running barefoot all the careful stability I’ve built up around my pelvis goes out the window. I’m pretty new to running and even newer to trying it barefoot but it shows me the degree to which shoes affect your feet’s ability to respond to the surface they are running on. My pelvis was all over the place, and it highlighted the tendency to heel strike. If i heel strike barefoot it becomes painful pretty quickly. It forces me to adjust my gait to roll more off the ball of my foot so that I am using the full surface of my foot rather than just the places I dysfunctionally roll to. It makes me run faster and I can feel the effects of it all through my fascia and internal organs. It sounds odd but it’s true, and it makes sense given the known benefits of reflexology. It seems I’ll be giving some more of my brother @audiokitchen ‘s advice a go and investing in some barefoot shoes this winter.
