My friends @lycan-art and @unicornvibration tagged me post a photo of myself. So, here I am ridin’ shotgun on our trip through Eastern Washington. We just hit Chelan and are going camping in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.

I made a rural punks subreddit

I’ve been thinking about doing this for a while now, but I finally got the motivation to actually do it. 

Rural Punks Brigade

I figured that since The Grind is dead I wanted to leave in its place something so that people can communicate with the greater rural punk community (Tumblr is great and all but there needs to be something a little more specific and accessible). 

Please spread the word. This will totally be whatever you make it.

Luci, our little Bringer of Light.

She lives with the livestock but she visits the house once in a while. Suffice to say, she doesn't seem to be lacking in cuddles wherever she goes.

Gravel Pit Gardening

My favorite thing to do this time of year is watch the plants grow!  And go to the beach.  We grow plenty of rocks and chickens ‘round these parts - we’re starting to figure out plants pretty good, too!

The first photo shows some Hopi Red Dye Amaranth seedlings that I am pretty excited about.  The seeds were a couple of years old, so I planted all of them - looks like they must’ve all germinated.  Whoo!

Ain’t nothin like a dip in the river after a long day of farmin. We were harvesting and hauling 80+ pound totes of winter squash all afternoon and sweating our asses off! The Stillwater River is just in our backyard, maybe a 10 yard walk from the cabin porch. The water is cool, clear turquoise blue and the mosquitoes are long gone since the summer heat arrived. Lush undergrowth and trees line the banks. Mountains in the distance await our adventuring. I cannot believe this captivating place we live in!
