hi again! we noticed our blue foster kittens have a sort of reddish cast to their longer hairs. together, it contributes to them looking kind of purple. It's only on their backs, and it looks very different to their moms coat. She has no reddish cast at all, their sisters are torties tho. I thought for sure it was a trick of the light, but we're noticing it pretty consistently now that they're bigger. It is very hard to get on camera, but you can kind of see it here. They almost look rusty? Is there a name for this?

I think this might be the rusting effect that is most commonly associated with black cats - i don't see why i couldn't appear on other colors as well. They say it's caused by sun exposure or tyrosine deficiency.
