callum lawson ( @rustwoods ) … + april kepner.
april always had god. he'd always been there for her, right until the moment he wasn't. until the moment she'd felt more alone than ever. like the glowing, warm and soothing presence around her - had just vanished. left her cold and bleeding on the wet pavement, left her heart to dry out and die. simply just to quit its task of pumping out blood to the rest of her body. samuel was gone, his bones had been breaking inside of her body ... the place he was supposed to feel the safest. what kind of a god would do that?
what's a god to a non-believer?
she lost her husband, lost her baby, almost lost her job. and that's when callum was introduced to her. he was another life that hadn't been caught in the hands of the almighty and loving father. another soul who was beat up and left. he'd lost his sister, she lost her son. in a way it could never be the same, but somehow their pain and grief ended up being a mirror. and somehow april had found herself in a ( sort of ) roommate like situation. she was back from the army - and she was crashing on his couch, so the least she can do is to make his favorite breakfasts in the morning. she was also getting a hang of the sign language thing. lucky for them both - it had been a hobby of hers before. a skill she wanted for herself as a doctor. "do you want milk in your coffee today?" she smiles when he emerges from his bedroom.
