Lazure Lion acts like an exhibit and you can't tell me otherwise.
Please do excuse my haphazard way of thinking and writing, it's all a mess in my brain, and for that, I apologize profusely 🙇🙇
I also realize now how niche this may be, but as a consumer of JTTW, LMK and DP media this sparked my interest while I was reading the wiki.
I present to you Sun Wukong's power level, and you might have noticed the very last purple link there and well...
That got me thinking, what would Monkey King's interactions with Danny Phantom even be? Assuming it's the Eldritch, King of the Dead and Infinite Realms Danny Phantom.
Ignoring Dragon Gods who can apparently just create infinite realms, although they could be assumed to be the very ancients, neverborn ghosts like Clockwork, the concepts intimately tied to existence and being; I wonder. Since Sun Wukong, the Monkey King is seven times immortal; erasing his name from the scrolls of the dead, along with what little jurisdiction the realm of the dead had over him, among other things, does he ever visit the ghost zone part of the infinite realms?
You know, this might actually make sense, Dragon Gods didn't create infinite realms as a whole, but can create – adding other realms – onto the already infinite ones. This includes every realm of the dead, of every religion yada yada, we know that stuff. But I don't want to focus on that one, also doesn't mean that Wukong himself can create these realms, just that the Gods that create them are apparently terrified of him.
I would also like to knock him down a notch and as often as Danny himself forgets his numerous powers (MK moment), Wukong won't use his most powerful ones very often. Besides, even in Journey To The West, dude pulls out a power to simply move* the team a few miles?? And then (as far as I'm aware) never does it again?? Why didn't he do that every now and then during the entire journey to speed it up is beyond me (it's the plot). So it's better to stay by their average power levels, even if their max exceeds mortal comprehension.
* – It happened on a mountain where they were passing by Red Boy who was disguised as a 7 year old to try to fool Tripitaka.**
** – If you want to learn more, Overly Sarcastic Productions has an amazing coverage of the book, and this situation happens in episode 6, though I recommend reading some parts of the book on your own, the conversations are hilarious, trust.
Another point would be keeping Wukong's mythology power level as a backup, same as fanon Phantom's power level, and just go with LMK SWK and C!DP for everyday usage.
NOW, all that out of the way, what do you think would be their interactions?
Key points:
· Monkey King isn't under jurisdiction of the King of the Dead, he never died, isn't dead, and won't be dead.
· Danny Phantom has enormous power for his human age which I'm eyeing between 15 to 20, depending on your headcanons, basically a baby God.
· Danny might remind Wukong of MK due to their similarities, like both of them being possible peers ranging from teenagers to young adults, possessing a wide variety of superpowers, heart of gold, both of them being heroes, and a few other– though minor ones.
· Monkey King will either swing towards trying to not get attached to another kid, heavens forbid another one will want him as a mentor (which on one hand I'm pretty sure won't be a fear that will come to fruition, since I feel like Danny would just want a friend and a sparring partner, not a mentor; or the actual opposite could be true, if we're going with the bad ending timeline, where Danny ended up being his parent's experiment, he could crave a reliable adult, or at least a guide. Another case with AU I once read in which his friends all got older while he stayed immortal, and by the first century he's all alone, but there's too many variables to consider and this paragraph is getting too long oh god help me) or, if perhaps he got soft in his old age, after 5th season and is more open minded to not only mentoring, but co-parenting (lol, don't be fooled, I see Mac and Sun, ship or not they're acting like MK's parents in S5 frfr)
· Wukong could absolutely wreck havoc in the infinite realms, and knowing his track record, he'd probably want to, just for shits and giggles, and if not (he's retired!) he'd manage to do it unintentionally anyways. Que in young King Danny hearing dozens of complains from ghosts and deities about some wacky Monkey disturbing everyone's peace.
Ancients save Danny from the paperwork the Observants are gonna dump on him.
· It's in the name but Monkey King is a King after all. And not a really bad one either. Well, you could say that leaving the Flower Fruit Mountain for years and then returning just to see all of it burned down, and his subjects hunted down, wasn't a very cool king thing to do, but I don't think he had much choice after being trapped under a mountain for a few hundred years and being drafted for the jttw. Point is, after his little violent catharsis he did restore peace and prosperity to his kingdom. While he was wiping out his name from the book of the dead he also wiped out as many names of other monkeys known to him. In LMK it's mentioned he's a very good king to his people. He obviously loves and protects his monkey tribe. Having said that, I find it hard to come up with any interactions where the king status would be the centerpiece.
So I'm just throwing it out there: One learning from the other. Relating to eachother. Monkey King came to his title by choice, and Danny (in most cases) by force, duty, like an unforeseen consequence of beating a tyrant. That could be a plot point, right?
· Invite their friends! How would Macaque interact with Valerie I wonder? You are a warrior to your hero, a shadow to your sun. I'll shut up now (not even as a ship, just purely their dynamics). Sam and MK, Tucker and Mei?? I'm pretty sure we have a new tech duo, but Cujo and Mo anyone?? How would team rocket coded villains of the week like Jin and Yin interact with other ghosts, Skulker or Box Ghost? At this I'm just gonna throw names because I myself forget with time that some characters exist. Pigsy and Ember singing duo? Sandy and Wulf, big and scary but softies at heart. Sandy could fit with a lot of ghosts actually, Frostbite and Pandora feel right, maybe even with Tang to complete this teacher, counselor vibe here. Mei, Jazz, Kitty would get along for sure and Mei would definitely want to race with Johnny 13. In general I feel like she would bounce off well with most of the badass cast. I worry she wouldn't find a common spark with Sam though. I also wonder how Macaque would react to Johnny's shadow? I can't find a good duo for Red Son so PLEASE do share if you come up with something, I definitely missed some characters (that is the DBK family)
That's all I have for now, dear readers. Honestly you deserve a medal if you read this whole word vomit of mine. Maybe I'll add more onto this crossover idea later and reblog it, but most of all I'd love to hear ANYONE out there who shares these media interests.
(come on I had to include DC, what kind of Tumblr post would it be otherwise?)
... Imagine all of this going on and Constantine feels a shiver and says something like "I'm gonna need a drink." and immediately goes to check with JLD if anyone decided to be too funny on a random Wednesday night lmao. Nah it's just two gods with inconceivable power. Honestly horrible upstairs neighbors if you ask me.

“Sex is a weird.” “What? Sex with me?” she asked. “No, not with you, I mean in general.” “Explain.” “Well…its two bodies, stacked up on top of each other, rubbing, creating friction, getting all sweaty— ” “Um—” she was trying to interrupt. “Like two hippos, emanating moans that sound like we’re trying to carry a baby grand piano up a flight of stairs--” “I guess…I don’t want to be late for work,” she said. “...Let's split an UBER!” "I'd rather walk."
They parted ways.
Weeks later, an overindulgent shopping spree rendered their feelings anew; like they could change the world.
