What’s the book that you always recommend to your friends? ⁣ ⁣ « A Tale for the Time Being » Nao, a suicidal teenager in Tokyo, writes down her diary in a notebook that has a cover of “A la recherche du temps perdu” by Proust and this diary is found on the other side of the ocean, somewhere in Canada, by Ruth, a writer that obsessively wants to learn more and more about her. Um conto para ser tempo – Ruth Ozeki

Um livro escrito, na forma de um diário, por uma adolescente japonesa que cresceu nos Estados Unidos e agora, ao voltar ao Japão, sofre bullying, tem um pai desempregado, uma bisavó monja... E, ao mesmo tempo, a vida e as descobertas de uma escritora que mora no Canadá e que encontrou esse diário – além de alguns outros itens – na praia da ilha em que mora com seu marido. O diário vai sendo lido aos poucos e a história de Ruth, que conviveu com a mãe com Alzheimer e tenta escrever um livro sobre esse período, também vai se desenrolando e as duas histórias magicamente se entrelaçam em algum instante... Bem interessante!
