it’s been a month since then

no flowers, no notes from secret admirers

and i went outside

and i asked the moon

moon, you promised me love.

i am beautiful, intelligent, young

why have i not received the love

that i so deserve?

and the moon replied

the greatest kind of love

the love for oneself

i put a sticker of the moon on my mirror

for if i were ever to find no love for myself
