D-16 is very confused, and a little intimidated. Everything is so... so big, and bright. Everyone here seems smaller than him, and so much more delicate.

He doesn't like the looks he's getting, either, hunching his treads and trying to appear smaller himself.

They are there, and they are not. At one moment solid, clad in white and gold, and the next, transparent and shadow. They have not tried to travel like this in a long time. They thought they'd forgotten how, but much has changed since they were a hatchling.
