Fact 1: Fitness is a journey and not a destination.🙌 . . Fact 2: Pre-pandemic playgrounds were filled with elementary school kids doing DU (Double Under) jump roping as simple as breathing oxygen. . . Fact 3: I'm not good at jumping rope.😐I've always been able to do it, but it was never focused and I never made it a priority other than as a warmup or finisher. Well, priorities change and here we are.🙃I'm going to master this DU within the flow of a several minute jump rope sesh. Just like I was able to master a muscle up, greatly improve my handstands and dial in hard to calisthenics the past few years.👊It's unlikely I'll be eligible for the next men's Olympic jump roping team, but this fitness journey thing is real and I'm committed to go down swinging...er...jumping.😉 . . 🚨I kept racking my brain on how to improve my form (currently: terrible😬) and got one of the #rxsmartgear Drag Ropes to just force me to slow down and better concentrate. Tried it out yesterday and it worked nicely for me! This thing has no swivel or bearing (like my other weighted rope). The high drag coefficient is the name of this game. Still need more reps with it, but very positive first impressions. . . Vid 1 shows the other "faster" ( if I had decent mechanics...) and no success at three DU attempts. Vid 2 shows the Drag Rope and three successful DUs. Still much work to do since I didn't complete these and stay in the flow of jumping. I'll get it. I need zero assistance with motivation in my life, but putting embarrassing evidence like this out into the universe has a way of quasi motivating me even if the main driver is vanity and a fitness humblebrag🧓😂. https://www.instagram.com/p/CGFXz4hD2Ql/?igshid=1vh3jo2d4tj7h
