Ryan has a lot of angry towards his dad is how I think he comes off as but he probably really likes baby Pokemon so...

Hydreigon - Yogurt

He for sure would have a Hydreigon. Hydreigon is a very fussy and pissy Pokemon so I’m sure Ryan could relate. His name is Yogurt because that’s what I named my competitive Hydreigon and I think it’s a very “Ryan” name. He’s 7 so he probably didn’t put as much thought into nicknames.

Gengar - Follow

I think Ryan followed a lot of people as a ghost. I can’t remember if it was Gengar or Haunter who follows people in the dead of night (might be both) but Gengar really does fit Ryan with that sinister creepy feel. Like, Ryan is a ghost who would actively seek revenge, not wait for it to float by. If he didn’t like you, he would make sure you remembered. Either by stalking you or otherwise. The ends justify the means, really.

Swampert - Kippy

Nickname? Again, just a “kid” nickname. Ryan probably liked Mudkip and named it Kippy, expecting him to stay a Mudkip forever. I think Ryan deserves a friend who will protect him relentlessly and, hey, Swampert is badass

Houndoom - None

Houndoom’s nickname really is None. Feels sort of forgotten. I like it. I think he had a dog at some point in time. Probably not for long because his dad is a fat pos and the dog was probably forgotten really quickly afterwards. Not by Ryan, though. Ryan forgets  n o t h i n g . Also, the pain of a burn inflicted by a Houndoom will never go away. Sort of like how the pain of William being a shitty father to Ryan will never go away.

Escavalier - Monte

The nickname doesn’t mean anything. I know you’re thinking of the fruit company but I was trying to think of my favorite Escavalier nickname (Which is Monty Python) but I couldn’t remember it off the top of my head so I went with Monte. Ryan is very closed off from everybody else so I thought Escavalier was fitting.

Eevee - Soft

Ryan deserves a soft, huggable, friend shaped friend and I am not ashamed of giving him one.
