Saint Nicholas Day

  Saint Nicholas Day is the time when people receive presents from family and friends. Of course, children believe that it’s Santa Claus who gives them gifts. We also wanted to celebrate that day in our school - that’s why a Christmas song contest was organized. Each class had to choose a song, practice it and then perform. Five classes participated in the contest and almost every performance was different. Some classes like 1A and 2B accompanied themselves, while the others had nicer looking or more original idea, for example class 1B sang a mix of different songs. When the contest ended, the jury said that all classes won and deserved an award – a Christmas decoration. After that, we returned to finish lessons. The whole contest was well prepared and most students thought that it was a very good idea.

The Independence Day

11th November is a very important day for every Pole. This is the time when we celebrate the restoration of independence after 123 years of captivity. On 9th November in our school a special performance was organized to commemorate that great day of our history, the day of our victory. It was a wonderful lesson of our language as well as our patriotism. During the academy we could listen to many poems written by our great compatriots. There were also songs which reminded us about some acts of Polish history. The performance ended with a song, which mixed two genres and was very successful. The audience even asked for the encore. When I looked at the students after performance I had an impression that academy completed the task and stimulated the students to think about it. The celebration was prepared mainly by class 1A and their class teacher. All the students  were also very happy, because lessons in that day were shortened, each about 10-15 minutes.
