The Orrery Society Supports Penn Libraries
Ryan Ly, former head of the television literary department at Creative Artists Agency, now serves as the principal of Curate Entertainment. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Ryan Ly belongs to the Orrery Society, a leadership board for the University of Pennsylvania Libraries. Some of the most diverse research libraries in North America, Penn Libraries serve all disciplines within the Penn scholarly community. The Libraries house one of the largest collections of published materials on the continent. Penn’s collections include handwritten manuscripts, sound recordings, e-journals, and printed books. The Libraries must continually update their collections to better serve researchers. The Orrery Society was created to address this financial concern. Since 2008, the Orrery Society has raised more than $7 million in support of the Libraries' collections. This reduces the financial burden of the Penn Libraries’ annual operating budget.
