HELP I HAVE FIVE MINUTES i think one of the things that makes shen yuan a really realistic character is the fact that he has different "faces" for different people. like not in the people pleaser way but like in the way that u wouldn't talk to ur bff the way you'd talk to ur coworkers kind of thing and this could be such great shipping food too

like shan yuan would never tease luo binghe the way he teases liu qingge but he also would never talk to liu qingge (because liu qingge is the teasing victim) in that tired old man way the way he does luo binghe (because sqq is the teasing victim) and I think that makes him just a really realistic character ....... IDK I REALLY APPRECIATE IT BECAUSE IT ALSO CREATES DIFFERENT DYNAMICS INSTEAD OF LIKE Lets throw this archetype with this archetype. like No he is a Fluid Being!!!!!!!!!! and that is so fun and whimsy!!!!!!!

i especially love this within a liubingshen dynamic because bing and sqq ganging up on lqg is Just Really Funny........

Modern au where shen yuan is a serious hardcore gamer luo binghe would use arrow keys instead of wasd and be none the wiser and one day shen yuans like Omg come over we can play video games and luo binghe (who has a fat crush on shen yuan) is like... Video games... Wiggles eyebrows... Sure.... so they actually do play video games the whole time and it's fun and then it becomes like a weekly thing and really quickly binghe gets good at the basic games like mario kart and like fps games and shennyuan is like damn this guys good!!

and he like always tells shang qinghua about their escapades and always goes into details like "he was smiling so much today i think he's proud of how good he is at the game!!! but i don't think the world needs to see this smile i think everyone would fall in love and we can't have that now can we!!" and qinghua who knows what this guy is (🏳️‍🌈) is like trying subtly to help him realise so hes like... "why not....?" and shen yuan has to take a moment to think and then hes like "..... economics........." and qinghua is ten seconds away from telling binghe to just kiss him already

but then on a gaming night they fight for some reason and it ends n a really bad note (if binghe [bingmei] has transmigrated maybe shen yuan gets fed up with binghe treating him like his "shizun" who shen yuan thinks is not him because he has no memory of living in pidw but binghe knows otherwise?) binghe is sad and plays a bunch of role play games to figure out how e should apologize (because he thinks it's his fault for some reason and Of course roleplay games bring the best advice!) and yuan is always moping to shang qinghua about it so then he actually Does say to binghe Kiss him bro 😭😭😭😭

so then the next week after a week of not talking shen yuan doesn't expect binghe to come over for the gaming night but he sets up everything anyway and calls it "habit" but he's actually just waiting for binghe to come over and he sits there staring at the blank tv for a while and as he's about to give up on waiting someone knocks on the door and surprise... it's luo binghe!!!! who, after heeding advice from shang qinghua, pulls shen yuan in, says "i'm sorry" and then they kiss and they lived happily ever after amen

one of my favourite things ever is that sqq and lbh have matching quotes on their wiki pages like UGH THEY ARE 4 LIFW. like yes shang qinghua and mobei jun Also have matching lines but its not a coherent exchange of words

like obviopusly the quotes are key parts of their characterisation but the way they Match 😭
