Sirens sing about the person's desires, and Ryusui quite literally wants everything and everyone. So if a siren attempted to charm him, they wouldn't be able to because they're too confused about what to sing about.
OR
Ryusui would be the most vulnerable to the sirens, because one can sing about literally anything and he's already jumping into the water to his demise because he wants everything.
Premise: Congrats! Your crew has worked really hard recently and you all scored on a marine fleet! When you, the quartermaster, throw a party in celebration, you feel like something is missing.

A hard day’s work warrants a long night of celebration. And work hard you did: your crew managed to plunder a large, important marine fleet that you had been tracking for months, and it happened without a hitch. As quartermaster, you promised your fellow crew that you'd host the largest celebration yet, rewarding them for their magnificent job. You promised that they'd be able to sing, drink, and dance as much as they'd like tonight, as long as they made sure to continue staying quiet near the living quarters.
You made sure that the party was luxurious. Fancy, never-ending barrels of rum; the full band paid to work this night; and games scheduled to last until the last one of you dropped from exhaustion. They deserved the best of the best; this was everyone's most demanding mission yet, and the crew really needed the morale boost. On top of that, this all meant so much more because the mission was led by you, not the captain.
Oh fuck, the captain.
For the past two weeks or so, you had been caring for Ryusui, your matelot. He had come up with some sort of illness, one that you both feared could be potentially contagious. Ryusui probably feels like shit about everything. He'd never admit to it, but you know him better than anyone. Unfortunately for him, this was planned months out ahead. It was really just really bad luck that he got sick when he did.
He's not dire. He's been bedridden for most of the time, with you taking care of him. And even though Ryusui is doing a lot better, you both agreed he should stay in your shared quarters until he's completely well, just so that he doesn't get another crew member sick.
Right now isn’t the time to think about him. You had to put your mind back onto the festivities. Evening would arrive soon, and you were now in a time crunch. You knew that everyone was probably foaming at the mouth, excited for what was to come, and you didn't want to disappoint them.
. .
The festivities were lively. You danced, sang, and drank way more than a small group of pirates ever should. The dozens of barrels of rum you pillaged had to be used up somehow; it only made sense to drink them here.
This was all so much fun, truly, but as the night went on and you partied more and more, your stomach grew a knot full of guilt. None of this felt right. Not the fact that this party celebrated the mission you led. Not the fact that there was a vague emptiness in the middle of the deck where there'd be some pestering voice screaming and having the time of his life. Not the fact that you missed deeply the man whose voice you felt the absence of, the man whom this should all be dedicated to. Deep inside, you felt just a bit lonely.
So you get up and head to find him. Not without grabbing a bottle of brandy, of course.
. .
You open the door to find Ryusui standing up, pacing around the room. He turns around instantly when he hears you open the door, staring right into your eyes.
You close the door and begin walking to him. He stays quiet until just about when you reach him.
He smirks a little bit. “Celebrating without me? You must be thinking you’ve already replaced me as the new captain.”
You laugh lightly as you go to put the bottle down somewhere. He grabs the small cups he has on the table and pours himself a glass. You nudge him. “You mad you're missing out on all the fun?”
“You'd better throw a party just like this one when I'm fully well,” he jokes. He quickly drinks the warm glass like it was nothing, and pours himself another.
“Poor baby is mad he’s being left out?” You laugh at his face, giving you a look of pure disgust at your comment. You sit on his bed, watching him drink yet another glass of brandy. You tease, “Watch out, captain, that stuff is stronger than you think. We wouldn’t want another night of you being blacked out drunk, would we?”
. .
That night was... weird, to say the least. You and Ryusui had been up drinking, much later than the agreed 8 pm curfew. Besides the curfew, neither of you was breaking rules; the night was mostly spent with you both just drunkenly giggling and making stupid jokes.
The keyword here is mostly. Yes, you were both just casually drinking. Yes, you had both done this together dozens of times before. It was the way you both decompressed after long days and weeks of nonstop maurading. But what was different about this night was that you both had far too much to drink. Like, a regrettable amount too much.
The details are really fuzzy. You know that at one moment, you were both laughing about how you’d be stuck pirating forever. You know that the next moment felt a bit solemn, lonely. Yet what you don’t remember is how things went from that solemnity to Ryusui on top of you, pinning you down. You don’t remember any progression of events besides the heavy make-out session you shared. The marks that you left all over his body. The sticky heat that encapsulated you both that night. The look on his face, confirming how badly he had wanted this, how badly he wanted you.
The rest of the night is a bit… uncomfortable to recall. You knew it to be generally acceptable to do what you did, but with your best friend, really? Sure, being out at sea without any romantic partner often leads many sailors to do what you both had just done, but are you kidding? With Ryusui?
Regardless, when you both awoke the next morning still sweaty and in each other’s arms, you both agreed to limit the drinking, lest you both have yet another heated night and make things awkward.
. .
Of course, Ryusui ignored your jab at him and drank two more glasses anyway. He whined as you took the bottle away from him. He pouted as he watched you leave the room to quickly hide the bottle away from him. And when you returned, he sat on the floor with his arms crossed, like a toddler, pouting still when you refused to go get him more beverage.
You try to get him to go to bed. It is not an easy task. Trying to convince a grown, muscular man to go to bed in the same way you would a small child doesn’t work all that simply.
“Ryu, c’mon, please. You have to get to bed. You—” Your sentence gets interrupted by Ryusui pulling you down so that now you’re on the floor, hovering over him. Your eyes widen as you recall events similar to these. You remember your heart racing the same way, your breaths on each other the same way, and even sitting in this position the same way.
Absolutely not.
He pouts as you back away, trying to avoid anything that could lead to another “weird” night. He tries to pull you back in, with no success.
“Why do you crawl away?” he says, slurring his words. He reaches out to you, and when you continue to back away, he starts crawling to you.
You stand up again. “Ryusui, we are not doing this right now. Please go to bed. If this is a conversation you want to have, we’ll have it in the morning.” It feels like you’re his father, trying to lecture him.
You two continue to bicker some more, until eventually, Ryusui just kind of… gives up. He slumps over, tired, and you take this as your chance to carry him to his bed. With great effort, you manage to shove him there. Thankfully, being a sailor has helped you grow a little muscle.
Once he’s all tucked in, you begin to pick up the glasses that were left behind, trying to keep your room tidy. One by one, you store them in a drawer, making the mental note to take them out and clean them in the morning.
Feeling a gaze on your back, you look over at him and realize he’s been staring at you this whole time, with an unreadable expression on his face. You walk back over, standing over him, and move his hair out of his face as you ask what’s wrong.
He seems to have impossibly sobered up a bit, as he asks with his natural raspy voice, “I’m sorry to do this to you, but can you stay in bed with me just this one night, please?”
It’s wrong. You know it’s wrong. Ryusui is drunk out of his mind, and it’s wrong for you to be so happy that he wants you like this. You know it’s wrong that you get into bed with him, groaning as he moves closer to your body, nuzzling his head into you. And you know this is going to be a really, really uncomfortable conversation tomorrow morning. But at least, for tonight, you let yourself indulge. After all, who can say no to a man with as pretty a face as he?
Your headache feels like it’s turning into a migraine. ‘Tomorrow is going to be a long day.'
Notes pt. 2: AAAA I'm so happy I finally wrote something. I have a lot of criticisms about the pace, the way it sounds, etc. but I don't care!! Something is out at least. (And we're going to pretend like I don't still have to finish chapter 1 of vague notion of love)
Today's Dr. Stone Tarot Card analysis is gonna be on Ryusui Nanami. The tarot card this high energy leader represents, in my humble opinion, is none other then The Emperor.
The Emperor Meaning:
Upright: Authority, established structure, and father figure
Reversed: Domination, excessive control, lack of discipline, inflexibility
The Emperor sits on a throne adorned with 4 rams heads showing his strong connection to the zodiac sign Aries. Just like Aries in the zodiac, The Emperor is a self assured leader who represents father figures and other strong authority figures in one's life whenever he shows up in tarot readings. He hold the Egyptian ankh in one hand (symbol of life), holds an orb in another (symbol of the world), and wears a crown on his head (symbol of authority) to show that this man is in control of everything in his life and all that he has been granted power over. The suit of armor he wears indicates he is protected and lacks vulnerability while his white beard represents wisdom and years of experience.
On the Ryusui Nanami card we see a confident Ryusui sitting on a throne of goats/rams with the back of the throne composed of the Perseus's ship wheel. The ship wheel is tied in place by 4 ropes, indicating that Ryusui is in complete control of where he wants the ship to go as he navigates the vast ocean upon which he sails. His confident sitting pose, arrogant smile, red garments, the captain's hat, a map in his left hand, and his right hand poised to snap his fingers and get whatever he wants all speak to Ryusui's role as a ships captain and the absolute power he wields on the ship that he navigates.
In the show Ryusui Nanami is a force to be reckoned with. He has skills that Senku needs to make his goals a reality and Ryusui knows his worth and isn't willing to settle for anything less proper compensation for those skills. When you get two dominate personalities in a room like that, there needs to be a division of domains, which is exactly what happened in the show. Senku is Ishigami Villages Chief and head scientist on all scientific projects (King of the Kingdom of Science) while Ryusui Nanami is King of the Perseus and the high seas. Ryusui also creates a currency based economy and gets the rights to one of the most valuable resources that Senku needed in Japan, oil.
While there is no doubt in my mind that Ryusui Nanami has the authority of The Emperor, and the experience that is required for the realm he commands, Ryusui also has a protective and fatherly side to him as well. When the crew was going to Treasure Island, Ryusui reprimanded Suika for stowing away on the ship because he was concerned for her well being. He also, as his last act before being petrified on Treasure Island, kicked Suika to safety because of his concern and protectiveness of her. Overall, Ryusui Nanami is the embodiment of The Emperor in my mind and I feel no other tartot card in the Major Arcana could represent him better.
My next analysis will be on the kindhearted and insightful Ukyo Saionji. Get excited!
