Donna’s nickname for Leia - love it. I love love love her relationship with Leia, and Donna-as-a-mom in general, and I have a lot more to say about that in future posts. But their goodbye was so sweet and heartfelt here. 

And Eric in the background, like, looking on lovingly at his two girls. Stop it. I can’t. I CAN’T, do you hear me? Will die of cute ship overload.

This feels very ‘married for 10+ years’ to me, so I like this dynamic for them. Ditto on the pet names.

Background information about Leia’s full name!

It’s Leia Anne Forman, likely named after Kitty. (Kitty’s middle name is also Anne 😊)

I love that Eric and Donna named Leia after Kitty. That has been my headcanon all along (although I thought Katherine - Anne is a lovely twist!) so to have it confirmed is fun and obviously, to me, feels true to character.

We see how Eric and Donna work through their differing parenting styles in the very next scene. Which is, basically how they’ve always worked through everything: by talking it out. Often on the hood of a car. 🚗👩‍❤️‍👨

I really, really loved this scene. the perfect Eric & Donna scene. *Chef’s kiss*

Eric is reflective and self aware. He’s not a jerk - it’s why we root for him even when he messes up (like threatening to put his foot up Leia’s ass lmao). He can be vulnerable like this with Donna and only Donna.

Donna stands up for her daughter. She reaffirms to Eric that they have a great kid, and that they can trust her. Eric knows - he’s just having a hard time with her growing up. It seems like everyone around him has known this for awhile but he is just now realizing it.

I loved that she teased him about wearing his emotions on his sleeve. And basically just about how well she knows him. Cute moment. Led to the cute head-pushing interaction. Which led to...

Donna assuring Eric that everything was going to be okay. Verbally, and then physically.

Eric finally looks peaceful again at the end of the scene
