I think the biggest problem in the Sherlock fandom right now is that some people were cool with S4 and some people weren't, but no one can just respect the opinions of others. Everything has to become an attack.
I fucking hated the shit out of S4. If you think it was the cleverest thing since the big bang, by all means please friend me. And then let's listen to each other's opinions and have a respectful discourse and remember that we're both in this fandom. Maybe you'll help me enjoy S4 more or help ease my pain over it. Maybe I'll help you understand why others had such a hard time with it. Let's just not fight.

Ever since S4 I’ve been using the tag “S4 fuckery” on posts about things from the series that make no sense. So here’s a breakdown of reasons why I think S4 is fake and that TJLCers are meant to pick up on that.

There’ll be no loose ends on my watch said Mycroft,who is literally Mark Gatiss.
The Garridebs moment, which was literally a “cliffhanger”–and the exact opposite of what we had expected to happen (i.e. the party who was guilty was the one to survive).
Head games (Euros playing head games, doctored footage, blatant inconsistencies when they KNOW how hard we watch the show tbh, Sherlock hearing Mrs. Hudson speak when he’s at Sherrinford and she isn’t even there).This is *not* Eurus speaking; Eurus sounds nothing like Mrs. Hudson.
Constant mirrors:
-Gatiss’ comment about how if Sherlock was saying “I love you” to John he’d have to be looking in a mirror, and then BBC One’s recent tweet:
-Actual mirrors as well as mirrored images (for example in Mycroft’s home video). Look–here are just a few examples:
Lady Smallwood’s abrupt name change, shown as both E. Smallwood in the first episode and Alicia Smallwood later on the card she gives Mycroft. This might be a sign from Mofftiss to hint they are following in ACD’s footsteps: ACD mixed up Mrs. Hudson’s name with Mrs. Turner’s (hence the running joke on John’s blog where Mrs. Hudson comments using Mrs. Turner’s name and keeps on specifying that “This is Mrs. Hudson”). When ACD killed off Sherlock, The Strand lost a lot of subscribers. They could be recreating that scenario. Note that this is not my own theory; I have seen others discussing this here but I just can’t remember who.
“Targets wait,” Sherlock said. TJLCers are the target audience.
Every single one of Sherlock’s cases at the beginning of the first episode being about clues that don’t add up (maybe not so unusual, I grant you).
The smashing of BUSTS OF MARGARET ANTI-GAY THATCHER? come on.
The power ranger on the front of the car was the blue power ranger, who was played by a gay actor.
They literally wrote in the drink code. (“Is tea code?” Of course it is.)
Different versions of the same story are mentioned more than once: (Sherlock’s version of the Samarra story, Moriarty’s version of the manger story, the government’s version of Sherlock shooting CAM).
John’s fake blog entry, which has been discussed to death at this point so I won’t rehash it.
The heart medication that the client in the beginning of ep 1 was taking is “known to cause bouts of amnesia.” Kind of like TD12. I think there’s more to the TD12 thing and the amnesia. Pure speculation though…I can’t back this up of course. Not really.

I might have fallen out of love with the BBC, and out of what small love I had for Mofftiss, and even (recently and very sadly and surprisingly) Martin...
BUT. I will never ever fall out of love with Sherlock and John as we know them. The epic, "imaginary" (yeah right bro, come at me and convince me) love they share. The Johnlock this fandom saw and built, and strengthened with fic and metas. That's something no one can take away, not with all the queerbaiting in the world. Their love is real, and anyone who can't see/claims not to see it is to be pitied.
They are my OTP for life, and love each other. I'm as sure of that as I am that I'm breathing.
Seriously and for real--I'm not debating Eurus/S4 with anyone if they approach me with "yes it's real and I won't budge so you need to change your mind"--I don't care. There are certain unspoken fandom rules, and this is one of them. That shit is disrespectful. It says right here in the header of my blog: "Not Mofftiss-friendly."
My thoughts aren't changing and I'm not starting those convos, so don't waste your time by finding a comment I made months ago and trying to start one with me bc you for some reason now have a bug up your butt regarding an opinion of mine that does not actually impact your life in any way. Keep walking.
Even if I treat S4 events as canon for the sake of some of my fic, I hate S4 and disagree that it's meant to be real. And if it IS, then Mofftiss seriously fucked up bc that shit was goofy as hell and felt fake to MANY of us for a reason. I don't care if that reason is that a.) it was *meant* to feel fake cause it is (and if they redeem themselves in S5 then they do, but the emotional damage the fallout brought to the fans is done and there's no taking that back) or b.) it was badly written: my opinion stands. It's stupid, Eurus was fake, and even if for the sake of bbc Sherlock it is actually canon now, it's not canon in the original stories and so this is where I diverge from what the bbc says. That shit is fake. That is all. That is where I stand. Enjoy your day.
How I'm dealing: tons of good fanfic. Omg there are SO MANY QUALITY WRITERS in this fandom. Some of the best work I've ever read, on any subject, seriously. We are lucky. THIS is my Sherlock experience now.
If Mycroft watching the film that devolved into a family video isn’t a dream, and is something set up by Sherlock, then why do we see these images spliced in?
Yeah, he could be pulling a major Shezza....
But that would mean he’d have to know all along about Eurus, and exactly who she was pretending to be. And he’d have to be keeping John in the dark about it...why? So John could be put in the well and Sherlock could have his heart-to-heart with Eurus? Every time I try to figure it out right now, my brain tries to fall into a hole, and I have to go to work. Wish I had more time atm.
I mean, of course this whole thing could be a dream and Eurus could just be a figure of someone’s imagination, but. Ugh...this stupid fucking series.
