There are two things that Cas realistically (as established in the lore) could have done to escape purgatory with Dean:

Carved out his grace to become human and go through the portal normally

Hitched a ride with Dean (like Benny did, or with Dean as a vessel)

I do think that "a group of angels dragged him out so that he could spy on the Winchesters and report back" has the potential to be very interesting too but man, these two options would have been super interesting too

Incorrect Destiel Crack

Dean: I’m the one who failed to grip you tight and raise you from Purgatory.

Castiel: Nothing you could have done would have saved me, because I didn't want to be saved.

Incorrect, but how the convo over escaping Purgatory should have gone.

I made this gifset from Spn s8e07 “A little slice of Kevin.” Some dialogue is s4e1 too, because it seemed like missed opportunity for Dean to use Castiel’s own words to win argument.

I get that he was under the influence of a vengeful ghost, but Dean does hold Sam responsible for things that were out of his control. Yeah, Sam went all-in on the demon blood thing, but he was being manipulated by Ruby and was trying to do the best he could with the situation he was in. Sam didn't KNOW he was soulless, nor did he choose to be soulless, nor did he choose to be dragged out of hell in the first place. Those are mistakes, yes, but it's so disingenuous to put all of that on Sam.
