day three: your favorite song

my favorite spring awakening song will forever and always be those you've known. this song is the perfect close to melchior's arc and to the story as a whole. not to mention, it's an absolutely beautiful song, and has my favorite lines in the entire show: "through the wind, through the dark, through the winter light / i will read all their dreams to the stars."

day eight: the best melchior

matt doyle will always be my favorite melchior. ever since the first time i saw him, i've been in love with the attention to detail he has with melchior's character and the intensity in all of his emotions. of all the roles matt played in spring awakening, this was definitely his strongest. i'm glad he got the chance to play him time and time again for two years, because his melchior added so much energy to each performance.

day five: your favorite scene

not much to say about this one cause i don't have any strong opinions on any of the scenes. but the "i passed" scene never fails to make me smile. it's what moritz deserved

day seven: the best wendla

my favorite wendla is eryn murman. eryn is fantastic in every single role that she understudied, but her wendla has always really stuck out to me. she perfectly portrays the longing and curiosity that wendla feels while still capturing her naïvety and innocence. most importantly, i absolutely LOVE her voice. it's so powerful and strong and contrasts her quiet and sweet acting, which i think is especially important for wendla.

(just as a disclaimer: i don't think there's an objective best or worst portrayal of each character, so these will just be my personal favorites!)
