I’m Sticking With You || Curtis & Sophie || Sept. 11th
After bantering back and forth about Curtis not watching sports since Sophie had come into his life she seemed to have convince him that she would enjoy watching sports with him. Sure, they’d managed to entertain themselves in their own company, but she wanted to be out with him. She definitely didn’t want him to be stuck inside all the time with her only because she found herself busier now with schoolwork after finishing her actual job, or volunteer hours. Football had started back up, and she couldn’t remember the last time she’d gone out to enjoy a football game with others that she actually knew. Most times she used to find herself catching games at home alone, but she didn’t have to do that with Curtis.
Sophie had spent the night on Saturday, and after a nice morning with him, they had decided to go out later in the afternoon to try and catch some of the games. After getting dressed she appeared in his living room ready to go. “Alright, I’m ready, let’s go watch some football! We’ve gotta make it there before the games start.” She was excited to get out the door, and not too long after they were pulling up at a sports bar that Curtis had driven them to.
Climbing out of the car, Sophie waited for Curtis, reaching out for his hand before walking towards the door. “How many girls have you met in your life that are pushing you out the door so that they can watch sports with you?” She asked as they walked inside. As it was the first weekend of the actual season, the place was fairly packed, but something about the crowded room seemed to make watching sports much more fun. Sophie wanted to hear the banter of people back and forth, the cheers for a team scoring, and the groans when something didn’t go how they wanted.
All the tables seemed to have been taken, but that didn’t bother Sophie at all. She nudged Curtis and pointed to two empty seats at the bar before leading them over. She climbed up onto the bar stool and then looked over at Curtis with a smile. “We’re just in time.” She grabbed a menu and looked over the drinks, and even some of the appetizers and food wondering if she should wait and order things later as the game got farther in, or if she should go ahead and start now, and space things out. “What do you think? Wait, or order something?” She asked, waving the menu side to side.
