James was easily the largest of Aless and Micah’s boys, but he was the most gentle. It didn’t particularly surprise Micah that James went into pediatrics, but his entire career he was surprising everyone else in his field.
Like Aubrianna, Micah’s boys loved being carried around but none more than James. Like Micah, he suffered from a bit of middle child syndrome and it didn’t matter how pregnant Aless was, if their arms were empty he wanted in on the action.
Brianna, like her father, wanted to see the world. She did a lot of her traveling with family, but the Grand Canyon was something she did with her brothers. The quartet of blondes hiked and photographed the adventure, making a photo album for their parents the following Christmas.
There were moments when Micah wished he could paint. CC North in autumn was always one of those moments. He would look out at the leaves painting the ground and know that a picture was the only way he could capture it. James knew that his dad missed it, so after he became Chief he made sure to always send a picture or two of the place in peak foliage. Eventually a painting was made of each view from the top office of all the hospitals and framed into a larger portrait. Micah hung it in Kalimna Cove where there was no CC-anything and was guaranteed to see it more than any of his other homes.
