i don’t want to spoil anything, so 👀 i’ll just go with the complete DISASTER that was the balcony wave after mary and edward’s wedding. they didn’t even have time to take their wedding portraits before... y’know.

Note: from chapter eleven of Evan, very unedited. I like how I used the same thing (i.e. the sun, looking up) to show how Cal and Princess Sima see each other. For context, Princess Sima slipped in the first snippet and ofc, Cal caught her and in the second snippet, Cal is next to Princess Sima who's on a horse and told him ~something~ to do. Let me know what you think!

Cal cradles Princess Sima in his arms, his eyes looking her up and down. His eyes stops at her face. “Are you all right?” Princess Sima looks up. The warm sun makes Cal softly glow like an angel. His arms felt like wings, soft and strong. Her skin pricks. His green eyes flash and shine like emeralds she hasn’t seen so bright. Too bright.

“What?” Cal looks up at Princess Sima. With the sun behind her, there is a halo-like glow around her hair and face. Like a crown. Her eyes glint like they are daring him. He has seen it once before. The same determined emotion, but Cal brushes it off since she is a princess, a royal who wants something. “All right, Your Highness.”

Sad fact about Elaine

Even if she does realize that she’s falling in love with one of the brothers, she is going to do her utmost to shut down those feelings.

Because she knows that her lifespan will seem like only the blink of an eye to them. 

She knows she’ll be gone so much sooner than they think.
