Could you please perhaps write a Fred Weasley x Reader based around the song that way by Tate McRae? If you are able to write it could it please take place while the twins are still at Hogwarts and the reader is a Gryffindor? If this isn’t possible that’s fine, I appreciate you reading this, thank you
Based off of this song---> Ta Da
Your heart pounded in your chest wildly as you melted against Fred, his lips insistent against yours as you ran your fingers through his hair. His own hands were digging into your hips, a pleased hum escaped him and drowned out as your blood rushed in your ears.
“You’re cute,” Fred said breathily as you broke away to nip at the skin of his jaw, trailing kisses down his neck as his hands wandered down your back. You were drowning in the sensations, falling apart against the man who knew just what to do to tear you apart and have you ask him to do it again, and again. Even if he forgot to put you back together in the end.
He let his fingertips roam under your shirt but the cold of his hands against your own burning skin helped snap you back to the present. “Wait, Fred,” You sighed, pulling away completely but remaining in his lap as his hands instantly still, hands falling away to rest on your thighs as he leaned his head against the wall of the empty astronomy tower.
You couldn’t tear your eyes away from his, the flecks of gold brightened by the light of the moon, his chest heaving, lips swollen and perfectly pink. “Yeah?” He asked, urging you to continue, he had been busy after all.
“What are we?” You asked earnestly, eyes searching his for any tell that he felt the same. He looked at peace, posture relaxed and eyes bright, pupils blown and eyelids fluttering shut as he let out a lengthy sigh.
“Y/N...” He groaned gently and your heart plummeted. “I just... I don’t know, okay? I can’t do the relationship thing... I really like you! Of course I do you know that, I just can’t make any promises right now,” Fred smiled softly, like it would soften the blow. “Isn’t this enough for now?” He asked cheekily, lips sucking at your pulse point and making you shake.
“I-I get it,” You tried to hide your disappointed tone and you were glad Fred either didn’t notice or he was ignoring how upset you sounded. You set your hands on his shoulders as he nibbled at your skin, and pushed away, standing and fixing your hair. “I’ll see you around Freddie,”
“Wait!” Fred asked as you headed towards the door and you spun around expectantly, heart leaping in the hopes he might come to his senses, realize that you were more than he thought. “We’re good right? You’re one of my best friends,”
“Of course we’re good,” You lied through your teeth. “Relationships are messy,”
“If we are good why are you leaving?” Fred narrowed his eyes. For someone who knew you so well, he was missing every one of your tells. You were gnawing on your lip, the pain distracting you from the sting in the corner of your eyes. Your heart ached.
“I’m tired, it’s late,” You reasoned and Fred watched you for a second later before hopping up with a wide grin on his face. He slung his arm around your shoulder and you leaned into his side instinctively. Even with how much you hated him right now you couldn’t help but seek out his comfort.
You hated that you loved him and you hated that he knew how you felt but refused to end your misery. You knew he couldn’t feel the same, you wished he did but this was nothing more than physical for him. You had chemistry, you were best friends and you had always been miraculously close, one kiss had been expected. Him tugging you down a corridor or into the astronomy tower a couple times a week hadn’t been.
You weren’t complaining. In the beginning it had given you a rush, you were kissing the boy you loved and he was kissing you. You were hopeful. The day after he had pulled you aside after your charms class to snog you silly you had thought that maybe it had meant something. Maybe this meant he felt the same. You had asked that very same question, “What are we Fred?” and he had answered the same way, “I don’t know,”. It had been so easy for him, and he assumed it was just as easy for you.
“We better get you back to your room then,” He said warmly and you gave him a smile even if it didn’t reach your eyes. You wondered if Fred knew he had put you in an impossible position. He had given you what you wanted most in the world, almost. The only thing missing was the commitment, the love. You wondered if he knew how happy you were with him, and how empty you felt when you left, knowing that you two would never be anything more than this.
As he guided you towards your common room, you told yourself to be happy to have this much of him. It was a wonder that Fred wanted to have you close, wanted to feel you as much as you wanted to feel him. Yet, he always stuck to the shadows, always tore his eyes away from yours when you were in classes. Always kept his mouth shut when George unknowingly struck a chord and teased about how, “You should just get together already, you argue like a married couple!”
Fred hadn’t even told his best friend, his twin, his other half, about what you two had been up to. He was ashamed of whatever this was and you knew it needed to end.
Fred dropped you off, pressing another searing kiss to your lips, making you dizzy as you mumbled a goodnight. He was gone in only a few strides of his lovely legs.
You crawled into your bed, your mind burning up with thoughts. Fred gave you your highest highs and lowest lows and right now you were coming down from your mind numbing adrenaline. Kissing him was like reaching the heavens and knowing it would be nothing more was like realizing you had forgotten your parachute after jumping from a plane.
You needed this to end, you needed to tell Fred off. To give him an ultimatum, have you, all of you, or none of you. He couldn’t kiss you the way he did and call you friend. He couldn’t make your heart race the way he did and think that there was nothing between you.
You cried into your pillow that night, knowing that no matter how many times you told yourself you had to quit it, quit him, you couldn’t. Fred Weasley was your drug and you were addicted.
Even if you always lost, you loved Fred’s games. No one else could own your heart like he did. The lows were nothing in comparison to the highs. Even if he couldn’t commit, even if this was all you’d ever have, even if you crashed every night, it would all be worth it.
You knew that by the time the sun rose, you would be ready to play the game all over again.
Can I hear your theory about Awsten being the one who sent those anons?
it's just that the anons were sent on the same date with when awsten and travis recorded the most recent podcast, where they mentioned sending theories on tumblr. but i checked it and the timing doesn't fit. (the podcast was recorded near sunset, as awsten mentioned the sky darkening. and the anons were sent around 2pm)
