There's so much salt and butthurt on the other ship's side (we all know which ship I mean) and I'm here rolling my eyes at them because miraxus has always been so obvious? It was actually the first ship I picked up on very early on, when Laxus was introduced, and sure, they may not have had a lot of 'moments', but the chapter covers were VERY telling and even Mashima himself has SAID that he likes them together, so. It's haters' own damn fault for not noticing what was in front of them.

Well I had just 1 ship fandom in mind if you were to ask Sage from 3 years ago but when I abandoned tumblr last year, it’s that other ship fandom that’s gotten way worse (tho if u ask me, I actually dislike them both now). But only dislike, okay? I was never really threatened by their ships, honestly :) *smirks*
YUP ME TOO!!! It’s when I noticed their first interactions that I already felt something interesting between them. And they don’t regularly interact, so when they do, there’s really something there that shows subtle depth in their relationship. It’s just that there are no flashback chaps or whatever that would really confirm it but I felt really happy when I interacted with shippers and we all share common headcanons that Laxus and Mira might have really gone waaay back when they were younger, especially during Mira’s rebel days. They seemed to be a perfect match during their younger days, but even moreso now that they’ve both changed and matured. (gosh they really are so perfect for each other now that I mentioned it) *sighs*
I just low-key shipped it at the time and then the chapter covers came out and I got way into deep into this OTP because really? Chapter covers are quite a bold move on the mangaka’s part. He wouldn’t do that for just anyone, especially in quite an intimate setting (with them dancing holding each other close). Like, these 2 characters rarely interact for long…soooo big moments like that from the author just really gets the fandom crazy with excitement. I mean, who wouldn’t celebrate seeing your OTP have some moments like that? Regardless of covers or small panels! I’ve always felt that Laxus and Mira were designed to be endgame since the beginning. Mashima must have changed the course of their story as he went along, so he probably found it difficult as to when he’ll even include some miraxus in the main story… but since the beginning, I felt that it’s always been Laxus and Mira till the end. If not, well, authors change their minds from time to time, we have no control over that when that happens (though I still see Miraxus happening). But haters should learn to even acknowledge that Laxus and Mira DO have moments. Mashima does give them merit as an actual ship. So when Laxus and Mira are given special panels, it’s Mashima’s way of saying that he’s acknowledging Miraxus.
SO there’s no point in invalidating the ship any further.
And you mentioned about Mashima saying he likes the ship *squeals* and then Laxus’ VA also ships it! The tumblr-verse is just a minuscule fandom sphere but in Japan I believe there’s probably quite a number supporting our ship as well! :)
