I keep seeing so many people be like " Grian HAS to be buffer than Scar, because he canonically beat him in a fist fight!" SCAR WAS PURPOSEFULLY NOT HITTING GRIAN. Watching his POV of the cactus ring in slowmo, you can see that every time Scar's crosshair even got NEAR Grian's hitbox, Scar jerked it away. He hit the air around Grian, as Grian stood still, but he couldnt stop the battle, Grian had to keep fighting, even if Scar wasnt. If I counted correctly, Scar only hit grian SEVEN TIMES, and Grian hit Scar TWENTY TIMES. Scar isnt stupid, or bad at PVP, he wanted to let Grian win. And that was clear, from how he rarely jumped to crit Grian, but Grian did it too many times to count. It didn't matter how much stronger Grian was than Scar, Scar let him kill him. He didn't beat Scar, Scar allowed him to win. If he wanted to win, Scar would've.

currently rewatching the hbomb deus ex video and he's talking about how it focuses exclusively on "the augmentation controversy" to the point where the whole world feels 2d. eg:

you'll be walking around on the street and nobody around you can talk about anything other than whether augmentation is good or bad. you're visibly augmented and other people will get really upset about it to your face, assuming that you're rich and privileged or that you hate them for not being augmented. or they'll be well-meaning but ultimately treat you like a novelty instead of a person, as though you are The Concept of Augmentation made flesh. the news is worried about violence from augs. there's an entire hate group that wants to get rid of all augmentation for everyone, and some of its members are people who used to have augments but got them removed because they felt the augs made them less than human. you can't escape this. it's everywhere you go.

the worst part is that you never asked for this. you were given augments without your consent as part of a lifesaving surgery. you would probably be dead if you weren't augmented, and while you're happy to be alive, the constant reminders that people see you as a threat, as less than human, make it really difficult to live your life. which is all you wanted in the first place.
