Saifah asking Name "Can I ask?" despite having every right to. Name coming to Saifah because he was the only one he could think of, the only one he could trust. Name being unable to shot a man, despite growing up surrounded violence. Saifah telling Name he is his friend, despite all he did.

It's being vulnerable with the person you're supposed to intimidate and hurt, it's being kind to the person who brought you pain.

And in the end it's the fact that these men are the closest the other gets to a friend.

huh... they introduced Nam differently than in the novel... Dangerous Romance novel spoilers under the cut

so the thing was that Saifah and Nam ARE friends, and that Nam was working indeed as a loan shark for his cousin, but he used his position to help Saifah a few times get more days to pay the loan

but now he is introduced as a loan shark, in a kind of villainy way, and I don't really know if I like it or not

because so much of the Saifah-Name dynamic, as little as we got of it in the novel, is based on their friendship, the fact that they know each other, care about each other and have dreams! together.

their dynamic is two poor boys, both doing bad things to make money (one scams sick people and one is a loan shark), and they dream of a time when both can travel the world together. and like the whole conflict in the last part of the novel is that Nam can't be good until the end, can't be lawful, while Saifah can, and both suffer because of it until Nam finds the strength to do the good thing.

so my question is: how is gmmtv going to fix that? are they going to go the enemies to lovers way we expected before the novel? because let me tell you that's a big missed opportunity because the original plotline for these two was actually kind of good.
