Okay so we see that the bite makes everyone stronger, but specifically it seems to make Scott & Erica much more masculine/feminine respectively, which it doesn’t seem to do for the others. So, my hc is that Scott and Erica are both trans who had started hormones, and the bite picked up on it and amplified the hormones to basically fully transition them so they no longer had to inject anything bc of their quick healing. Idk it’s just a stupid thing.
Ooh that’s actually very interesting! I have wondered about how the bite would affect someone who is trans (working on that idea in one of my fics). It really fits with Erica especially bc taking hormones often causes skin issues (which she had) and she was really hiding her body before with the clothes she chose. Once the bite happened, it cleared her skin and she felt more herself, I’d say. Not to mention the fact that she no longer has to fear having a seizure (similar to Scott getting rid of his inhaler for a while). She was confident enough then to dress how she wanted and live without fear. Add a trans headcanon to that, and it fits surprisingly well!
I do like the idea of werewolf senses picking up on how the werewolf views oneself and catering to that. Hormones are very tied into a werewolf’s reactions anyways, and the Bite has been used before to cure things (Gerard’s cancer, Erica’s epilepsy, Scott’s asthma) so it wouldn’t be that big of a stretch to say it could take over hormone replacement (HRT) duty. I don’t think it would change their parts or anything, but it might be possible if the person were to transform into a full wolf (like Derek’s evolved form or his sister Laura’s form) that it would transform them into a wolf that matched their true gender.
For Scott, I wouldn’t say that he got more masculine, but he did get more physically athletic. He didn’t want the Bite, and he was afraid of it for a long time, so I feel like he was sort of forced into a more responsible, active role (which may be read as him coming across more masculine). He definitely grew up as a result of his becoming a werewolf. I think the contrast between Scott as a human and Scott as a werewolf was a lot bigger just because he was on the weaker side physically. He and Stiles were not good lacrosse players before the Bite. But others like Isaac and Boyd were already pretty fit and athletic so their transformation doesn’t seem as dramatic.
That being said, I find the idea of trans Scott to be interesting. I can imagine Stiles having a crush on him as a child (when he thought Scott was a girl) before Scott figured things out and came out as trans (actually he probably still has a crush). His mother has always been so supportive of him too. So I could definitely see him coming out as trans to his family, and his mom would know the best place to take him for testosterone shots since she has connections to a lot of people in the medical community. Scott would try to prove himself by getting involved in sports, even though he had to work so much harder than everyone else because these things didn’t come naturally to him. So even though he’s not happy about being a werewolf, he can’t deny there are certain perks that helped him.
Anyways, this went on a lot longer than I thought it would lol. I like that headcanon. Don’t worry, it’s not stupid at all! Thanks so much for sharing. :D
