for people asking how I got blocked by op, there's actually an interesting backstory to this.

soooo back in high school me and my friend thought it would be funny if there was an opposite sexuality to sapiosexual (attraction to intelligence), and knowing beyond-mogai-pride-flags seems to make flags for everything, we decided to ask them to make a flag for "morosexuals" (attraction to morons), and explained that it's not offensive because technically it's just the opposite of smart. WELL, op took us seriously, posted the flag, and then soon figured out after I reblogged it that it was a joke, then blocked me.

To the people who think I'm making it up when some (not all or even most) ace people are seeing queer sexuality and sex positivity as an attack on them.

if you as an ace person, even a sex repulsed ace person feels excluded or victimised by other people celebrating queer sex this is not an issue of the community excluding you, support for one thing is not exclusion of another. we dont need to pretend that other queer people dont have sex, or that sex isnt important to them or the community. not everything has to cater directly to everyone 100% of the time to still be inclusive. adding sex back onto the pride flag is not excluding anyone.

if you feel excluded by someone celebrating their identity that is a problem with you not the community

I like the flag in your pfp :) I'm a lesbian and I also use the pink flag w/o lipstick! I get so upset when people equate it immediately to transphobes when that flag was the only one available when I came out (save for the axe one but nah I wasn't about that)! <3

i like the orange and pink one as well since its more representative of butch and gnc identities and has more meaning to it. (i didnt make my pfp myself, which is rlly the only reason why its the pink one) im happy youre able to identify with the pink one tho!

the second somebody decided there’s a sliding scale of what asexuality means (aka that words have no meaning) was the day it all went downhill. you either are asexual, or you arent, and the idea that it’s more progressive to support “aces who have sex” is so backwards, isn’t this literally what ace ppl were/are trying to fight against???

different people in a community saying contradictory things doesn't mean all aces are contradicting ourselves. or even that either statement is wrong. orientations are about attraction not action, so having sex doesn't invalidate someone's ace identity. most ace people i've talked to about it definitely don't want sex (not all, but it's understandably more common that the opposite), and the "aces who have sex" thing is talked about and debated in The Discourse so much more than it needs to be. it's just meant to be a statement that your actions don't inherently define your sexuality, it can ask be really complicated, and only you can know your own personal experience of attraction and sexuality. words still mean things. asexuality is still about a lack of attraction. you not understanding that doesn't make it fake.
