when Barzillai does his Speech during chapter 7 I got very excited in the same way that Flint Speeches make me excited. love it when a guy with mythologized baggage gets to do dramatic speechifying!!!! On A Ship!!!!

Beyond Ezra and Josué as characters, that speech of Barzillai’s is the ONLY thing that survived from the old gtw script haha!

There will be more speechifying from him, kind of, in the next chapter, on a little whaleboat.

2. Album of the year?

The amazing EURO-COUNTRY by the incomparable CMAT!

This album carried me across mountains. This album accompanied me driving the length of the country at least twice. I am always thinking about how Jamie Oliver Petrol Station is a song about trying not to be too publically mean about a guy who only kind of sucks, which results in being mean to him on a larger stage than one would think possible. Coronation Street is my favourite though. Lord Let That Tesla Crash gets an honourable mention.

Really really really good.

14. Favorite book you read this year?

I have answered this twice already BUT I also failed to mention Bloodchild by Octavia Butler. Truly she is one of our preeminent space perverts. I want to read some more of her novels this year.

I am also ...7? chapters into Whipping Girl. Youll be shocked to know it is actually really really good. As good as everyone says!
