@sakuraswirled | 💙‘d for a starter
An off day was a rarity for the eldest Kamisato child, his work as the Yashiro Commissioner felt seemingly never ending--- issues and problems piling up upon one another as he navigated political landscapes. Even once home Ayato was not quite free yet: his attention as clan head pulled to and fro as he accessed the wants of the clan itself, then the families that served it, and, finally, those employed by it. As such, recently time to spare for Ayaka had grown equally rare; a notion that bothered the swordsman as he read over the note that had been left upon his desk by said sister.
" Dear Brother, I learned a new recipe while attending festivities with the Traveler. Considering that they are from another land, do you think... that I might need to make some changes to said recipe? "
Fingers holding pen tweaked, tapping the end against the wood of the table he sat before as he mulled over his sibling’s note. It was rather pitiful, wasn't it? For the majority of their correspondence as of late to be solely through written word, never quite managing to be in the same room at the same time. Her note however intrigued him ( as all things related to experimental foods did, much to a certain housekeeper's chagrin ). It was only a moment more before mind was made up: as he had gotten through a decent chunk of clan related work, what harm could there be in stopping early just. this. once. so that could seek the young woman out and see just what this recipe she had learned was? And, of course, to provide his eclectic opinion on what might be a proper substitution.
It only would be some minutes later before the head of the Kamisato clan left messy table to instead near meander through the estate as he sought out his sibling with the intention to intrude upon whatever her current activities may be. The favored son soon finding her practicing traditional arts ( alongside her tutor ) with a dedication he had always found admirable.
" Mind if I give it a try? " A teasing call to attention as body moved through the threshold, Ayato's nature in that moment more akin to the puckish older brother he truly was beneath the taciturn guise he had adopted as clan leader.

"Standing here, seeing so many happy faces… it almost seems like a dream."
A faint smile curled upon the commissioner's lips with his sister's remark, the two of them overlooking the crowd that had gathered for the culmination of the Irodori Festival. The young woman was quite right, there was something altogether lofty about the scene unfolding before them: an Inazuma free of the Raiden Shogun's Sakoku Decree and the resulting Vision Hunt, were citizens and foreigners alike could once again intermingle. This festival was the first step in repairing Inazuma's reputation in Teyvat, and, if things went well ( which they had so far ), the first step in boosting the country's economy and thus the overall wellness of its people.
❝ I was doubtful when Lady Guuji approached me with her ideas for reestablishing the Irodori Festival. ❞ He admitted quietly, tone of voice verging near on fascination as eyes watched the flow of the crowd. ❝ To transform a tradition that many have forgotten about into a novel convention is certainly something only she could have thought of. ❞
To say he was at first doubtful was an understatement, for a short time at least. After all, the Guuji's ideas were always wonderful in some way or another. He had reflected on the opportunities that such a festival would provide in between his day to day work, deciding that the benefit it would bring to Inazuma and her people alone was well worth the effort. Even if the festival's original purpose was slightly overshadowed by the light novels produced by Yae's own publishing house.
❝ But now, I believe I’m quite happy to see that all my dealings with her to prepare this did not go to waste. ❞ Plus it had afforded him a rather apt opportunity in regards to the final son of the Kaedehara clan, hadn't it?
