13. What’s the best thing you can cook? As of right now, I haven’t been able to make a lot of food myself, what with schedules and facilities and whatnot. But I have been able to make a couple different pasta dishes, as well as some different types of bread. The bread is for sure my favorite. I can make Lembas (the elf bread from LotR), Sally Lunn (a colonial sweet bread that is some of the best bread on the planet), and a sort of rustic wheat, honey, and molasses bread that I like to brush with olive oil, as the recipe doesn’t specify what kind of oil to use. I personally think the rustic bread is the best because I’ve made it the most often, it’s really simple, and I actually have a really fun time making it. It’s unleavened bread, so it actually doesn’t take too long to make.

22. What song(s) from your youth/teenage years do you still secretly like? I’m not entirely sure how to answer this, as I still listen to a lot of the music from when I was young, because it was predominantly older music. I wasn’t huge into, like Pop 40 or Billboard 100, so I didn’t necessarily “grow out of” anything that was hot at the moment and that I still listen to every once and a while. If you really want to know my musical interests (and how insanely eclectic they are), feel free to ask about specific artists/genres/whatever and I’ll be able to give you a better answer that way!

Sally Lunn is a bun or teacake, classified as a variety of bread prepared from a yeast-based dough enriched with cream and eggs. Its texture and sweetness bear resemblance to the brioche breads of France. Traditionally served warm and sliced, accompanied by butter, it was first documented in 1780 in the spa town of Bath in southwest England.  A literary reference to “Sally Lunn and saffron cake”…
