One of the first period dramas I fell in love with was Anne of a Thousand Days. The costumes were incredible and even before I became a fan of Anne Boleyn, I was hooked on the film.

Tonight I saw Death on the Nile at Theatre Royale, and I was surprised to see an actor who had also been in AofaTD, Terrance Wilton, who was Lord Percy.

I include images of both to serve as a guide.

DotN was abridged, missing out two deaths, theft and added a resurrection, which was odd.

I think I preferred David Suchet, and the hidden Object game I have from years ago.

Mother complains of how I treat her some times as if it's undeserved when she had no idea how she treats me in the same way with her comments last night about how I wouldn't be interested in her success at work, yet she no problem moaning to us about her woes of people being selfish and focusing only on themselves and now t giving her praise when she by demonstration is exactly the same, treating how affected I was by adow as of something to mock, which made me stop explaining why I am so affected by it, because it touched me deeply concerning so many things that will never exist in my life because of her and her actions leaving me unable to trust anyone and to wish frequently that every night is my last, only to wake with regret in the morning because it never is.

Mother just came out with that she wondered if she might die in her sleep after they spent Monday travelling to Rugby to collect what was left of my grandfather's things, as the alcoholic bitch and her family have got rid of a lot and stripped the house bare.

Why does she have to say things like that without any thought of our reactions other than again to garner sympathy for herself yet again because after all, she's the one who sacrifices the most.

She's decided that as we're not going away on my birthday as we usually do, that the Friday before it which she had booked off is not going to be. The way she announced this, with the emphasis on that we're not going away really hurt, because yet again it's all about her. She's still taking the Monday afterwards off, which after this comment I really wanted to tell her not to bother, but it unlike her, I know how ever I say it, she'll be offended by it.

Her behaviour this week still doesn't make me look forward to it either. She was complaining about a work colleague yesterday and some of her comments she quoted the colleague saying were similar to her own.

Why do I constantly feel like I just should keep my own thoughts and opinions to myself because I'm not allowed to have them where mother is concerned.

And I'm talking, about anything from politics to personal.

Freedom to express yourself does not exist in this house.

There are mornings when I wish I'd never woken up because I'm made to feel guilty the day before for wanting things for my birthday and mother complaining about how money she's spending and owing me for the day, reminding me yet again that she'd be better off without my existence being such a drain on our resources.

Do I feel any better for posting this? No, but it's the only resource I have, for I'm not allowed to say it to anyone else, because I'm not allowed to express how I feel, it's all about her. She's the marytr, the one who sacrifices the most and me and father have to put up with being treated like shit and feeling guilty for our existence most of the time.

So Carson is suddenly well enough to be Butler since Barrow left.

Henry is trashed as a bully and a playboy and having a mistress when he gave up everything for her in the series and set up a company with Branson, was quite happy that Lady Mary ran the show, and Matthew rendered a saint when he was far from it.

And neither is Lady Mary, who seems to be keeping her married name when she could drop it now she's divorced.

And why did she fall for the con artist? It was obvious he was trying to get her drunk enough to sleep with him so he could blackmail her as a backup plan to try to persuade her to agree to his schemes.

Lady Mary is far from the first divorced woman, not the highest or the first. Consuelo Vanderbilt divorced the Duke of Marlborough in 1921.

Wasn't the Della Francesca sold in series 6?

Where is Lucy Branson? Like Henry is she suddenly only heard of and never seen.

The flashback at the end is too sugary.

There was a certain emotional distance as well, there wasn't really anything too invested in, a lot was used before and rendered cliché.

Had a lengthy journey back from Winchester than planned yesterday.

There was a signal failure at London Waterloo, which cancelled everything there, causing us to have to get off the train at Woking.

All the staff at Woking just threw up their hands and left passengers to figure out by themselves where to go from there.

After a bit of thinking, we went back to Basingstoke, caught a train to Reading, then London Paddington, then the tube to Kings Cross, then to Cambridge, where father picked us up.

It was only on the Cambridge train that the tickets were queried and the officer had to check that the fault had occurred, because obviously London Waterloo is in a completely different world to Cambridge and they'd never heard about it. They gave up reading about it in the end because it was too long. But that felt very offensive and officious, just because we dared to use what was laughingly called first class on great northern, which included in was our original planned journey. I say laughingly because the only thing to distinguish it as first class were some white squares of material stuck on the seats with velcro that said first class.

We were home by seven pm. Should have been home by two pm.

Two different channels will be showing the singles finals.

I don't understand the logic of this. I know tnt probably paid the BBC a lot of money to show a highlight show every evening and share the finals, not all the matches, but why would you pay £30 to watch a match with adverts every three games, except the final set, - which is what they did during Roland Garros - when you can watch it without adverts on the BBC, for the price of a TV licence, which you have to pay anyway?

Visited Elveden hall, Suffolk today. Gorgeous house. The photos do not do it justice. Fascinating tour by Lord Iveagh. I cannot recommend it enough.

Côte, Sally Lunn, St Swithun's Church where Jane Austen's parents were married and her father was buried. Fanny Burney also buried here along with her sister and husband. William Wilberforce married here too. The honey cafe is an undiscovered gem, tasty food.

Jean Marsh, another favourite, fantastic actress. She was brilliant in Fatherland. It was a small part, but she delivered it so skillfully, it was utterly stand out and memorable.
