Saints Cyril and Methodius

Cryril (826–869 – 43 years), and Methodius (815–885 – 70 years) were brothers. Their origin is disputed; they are generally considered Greek, but some thing they are Bulgarian. They invented the language Old Church Slavonic (which later became the basis for Old Russian, and Greek) to spread the word of God. The alphabet they created is called the Glagolitic Alphabet (”the first alphabet to be used for Slavonic manuscripts). It’s descendant alphabet is the Cyrillic Alphabet (which is stilled used in many languages today).
