I cannot BELIEVE I missed out on the MPLS chronofall! gaaaahh!! Of course it all happens on the ONE DAY I was busy with a huge work overload. GAAAHH! 

I won't be bitter, however--because the chronofact was found almost RIGHT AWAY! This is a HUGE success! 

  a huge congratulations to @zgeorge93 who found it just over by St. Anthony & main! Man oh man! And that was one of the places I was going to look!!

So very very exciting people! I'm sad I missed it, but I'm glad the chronofact was found by someone! And now this possible future in 2058 is out there and known! Hooray!

Listen to your futures

I've been drawn to voicemails from the near future (within 10-20 years from today) and I found a pattern with 6 voicemails that are all from within the next 15 years. In these 6 voicemails, it seems that the climate is either really hot, really dry or both. It makes me wonder about the near future...Within the next 15 years we could experience some very hot/very dry days...

I don't know if I would rather have really hot weather or really cold weather...I'd rather have a lovely 70 degree day. The dryness is the thing that worries me the most...lack of water is terrifying. what do you think?

This is CREEPY! I don't know why but I am attracted to these extremely creepy voicemails for some reason. They are just so exciting and terrifying all at the same time. The woman on the phone seems in a panic. Some sort of creature is coming for them. She can't say what this creature is for some reason but she assures the person she's calling that when he sees them he will know what to do. What could these creatures be? zombies??

This is the scariest voicemail I've heard as of yet. This also comes from the farthest off future I've heard. The year 2064. 

The man speaking is calling a delivery person for supplies. He seems to be calling from underground in a climate that has lots of dangerous storms and tornadoes. In this future it seems like people don't have a lot of contact with the outside world. The fear in his voice is palpable--he seems to be very isolated and that scares him. It seems his only contact with the outside is a control board that he fears isn't working properly. 

It seems like he wants the delivery to come not only for the supplies but also so he can have some sort of human contact from the outside.

One of the things he's asking for is medical supplies--I wonder what he needs them for....I can't imagine being so alone in that sort of environment. That must be so terrifying...

This voicemail not only sparked my curiosity but also tugged at my heart a bit-- It's scary and sad to think that some of these futures are so bleak...

Here it is! here is the last chronofact that came into my possession. This one is different because it found me. 

A man from Oregon was trying to sell it on craigslist and I happened to stumble upon his post. He was asking $20 bucks but when I contacted him he gave it to me for free! He was convinced that the chronofact was an object possessed by the devil and all he wanted was to get it out of his house! I kept trying to reassure him that (however bizarre) chronofacts are not evil or possessed! They are simply vessels for information--but he didn't seem to care...He just wanted it off his hands.

He told me he found it in the middle of the road while bike riding. He said it was vibrating--which at first intrigued him. He thought it might be some sort of new-age fancy electronic item that could be worth lots of money. He had brought it to several electronics dealers/pawn shops but, of course, nobody knew what it was. So he was left with it sitting in his house. He said that it would vibrate every so often and once it even gave him an electric shock--that scared him a lot. 

I wanted to convince him that it wasn't scary or evil at all, but after an extremely long phone conversation trying to explain to him what it was, I realized that I was just wasting my breath. He really did not care at all--he could not be convinced of the importance of the chronofact and what it all means--all he wanted was for someone to take it off his hands... So I sighed in frustration and then happily accepted a free chronofact from the other side of the country.

Baby's first chronofact!

Hello all! So I thought I'd share with you what happened at the very beginning of my futurecoast journey. It all happened on accident really...

Last September I was simply walking from my apartment to the Dunn brother' to waste some time on my computer before my extremely boring/time-sucking communications class and since it was a nice day I decided to take the long way through the park (who knows maybe I would just "accidentally" lose track of time and "accidentally" miss my class haha)  and I came across this weird object just laying under a tree. I almost walked right past it--it looked like some tossed aside piece of plastic garbage or something, but right as I was about to pass it I could've sworn I saw it sparkle. Not the sort of sparkle that comes from sun-refelction but some sort of really unusual and bright sparkle like it was flashing at me or something. Like it was trying to get my attention. So I decided to pick it up and check it out. 

You know I could just end the story there by saying "the rest was history" but that would be boring...

When I picked it up it was weirdly warm. Not hot--I could still carry it, and not just warm from the sun but this weird lasting warmth--like it was coming from inside the object. I was a little freaked out at first--hoping that aliens wouldn't swoop down and abduct me and probe me and dissect me for science or whatever lol. Whatever, the point is that it's unusual-ness definitely caught my attention and instantly got me excited about finding out what it was. So I brought it with me to Dunn brothers and sat outside with my computer to try and figure it out.

Upon closer inspection I saw a URL (futurecoast.org) 

(please note that these pictures were taken seconds ago and not at the time of discovery--sorry to disappoint but I am not a natural photographer and taking a photo of something is rarely my first instinct) 

I also saw some sort of serial number:

(I apologize for the upside down numbers but again, I am not the best with a camera and my stupid phone wouldn't focus on the numbers the other way around--whatever...)

...So I entered the url and it brought me to a website with nothing on it except a picture of a similar thing and an email address: "[email protected].

--(of course you will find that the website today is rather different than it was over a year ago—yay research & technology!)

So what would you do when you go to a url etched in your freaky weird alien object and find only a picture and an email? I emailed them a picture of my strange object plus the number on it and said "Hi, I'm Sam, what is this thing?" And nothing happened for a while--which was rather disappointing...But then just as I was about to give up and forget about the whole thing I got an email back and it said "congratulations, your chronofact has been decoded" and there was a mp3 attached.….ok and now I’m really going to say “the rest was history” because upon listening to the mp3 I was absolutely hooked!
