DOCTORRIVER + Sparks (Live Version)
you can never take away my "11 was waiting for River to show up in Victorian London" headcanon from me.
The Doctor: Thatâs my girlfriend, suckers!
River: Your wife, Sweetie.
The Doctor: My wife. Even better.
Little AU idea.
I have this idea developing still, and I might write it, but for now, here are literal bits and pieces of it.
-----
During the Bruce-In-The-Timestream incident, Jason was actually on a mission with the Outlaws and came back shortly after Tim and Bruce did.
He was rather pissed after getting everything from Tim and Cass, and Bruce, then Damian, then everyone. (Yes, he gave Damian a talk-to.)
He was most pissed at Dick. Yes, he knew his brother wasn't in the best mental space, but that didn't excuse what happened with Tim. Especially since Tim (in this AU at least) didn't even tell anyone besides Bruce, Jason, and Cass what really happened. Also, Alfred found out because Alfred knows all.
Yes, only they know about the missing spleen. And the other things.
So for a while, Jason kept quiet, though Tim was avoiding Dick and Damian, was hanging around Jason more. Both of the D's were a liiiiittle jealous of that. Dick didn't like that Tim seemed to feel safer around Jay 'all of a sudden'. He knew it was his fault, but still.
Damian was just Confused with a capital C. Jason talked to him, though, and laid it out, but told him to give Tim some space first.
Jason can tell that the two don't like that Tim is avoiding him and hanging out with him. But right now his attitude is 'DICK SHUT UP THEY'RE MY LITTLE BROTHERS TOO.'
Bruce knew everything but didn't know what to do. Alfred told him to 'let the boys sort it out themselves.'
Eventually, Dick finally got Jason alone in the cave, and it rose to an argument. A big one.
They stopped talking to each other for a while after that.
I haven't decided what happens from here other than after a while they do talk it out and all.

You don't understand how important River and the Doctor's relationship is to me.
For one, their timestreams. If you want to make a doomed love from the start, THAT IS HOW. Like, what do you mean the first time he meets her is the last time she sees him? What do you mean she loves them so much but doesn't think that love is reciprocated?
How they're both going forwards and backwards at the same time? Every time he meets her, he knows so much about her. But every time she meets him, further on back down the line, he knows less and less. Until one day he doesn't know her at all.
When they meet in the middle they can only stop for a brief moment before going separate ways again.
The Doctor loves River so much that it hurts them. Their wife, the woman they trust with their name, which few know. River, the woman who broke time because she couldn't bear for the Doctor to die not knowing how loved he was. That the universe needs them both because they need each other.
They save each other so many times. He always comes to help when she calls.
"You're always here to me. And I always listen."
He acknowledges that he avoided the truth because it was too painful. But he admits it anyway when it matters the most. He kisses her when she's not even there, not really. And they part in that special way, because it's true, they will meet again, so the goodbye doesn't have to be permanent.
The Doctor spends 24 years with River.
She has a diary to relive every moment together.
Do you think her data ghost reads it like a bedtime story? A story that's never ending even when it's been read through over and over because it never gets old, it's always new.
It's the greatest story ever made, the story of River and the Doctor.
