true story: three summers ago i was unemployed and had $25. but then I had a vision -- you gotta spend money to make money, right? this is america! so i went down to the hardware store and spent twenty bucks on a 50 lb bag of concrete. now, i don't know if you've ever tried to carry a 50 lb bag of concrete, but it's freaking heavy, especially when it's 95˚ outside. so after five blocks or so i was totally beat; fortunately i found a discarded office chair and was able to wheel it home. subsequently, i went out and spent more of my dwindling little bit of money on various junky items, which i then stuck into the concrete: my grand plan was to sell these creations on the subway. this did not work at all. i got on the train and was like "uh, does anyone want one of these things?" and held out a carrot that i had embedded in concrete. no body on the train wanted it (duh). i only attempted this once, maybe i get demerit points for lack of fortitude. anyway, here is a video from this time. --Sam Dwyer
