The world as Kon experienced it and the world as Kon was told about are different. It takes a while for him to figure that out, though. The world is more complicated and wonderful and terrible than any information that was downloaded in his head in Cadmus could tell him. He began learning that fairly quickly, all things considered. Some other stuff was more complicated to figure out. It’s hard, after all, to figure out the differences in your own experience of the world as compared to other people if you don’t have the language to do so. And it’s not really something huge, so it’s easy to brush off.
Or: Some times that Superboy didn't realize he had Kryptonian senses, and one time Kon finds out he does, for @90skonweek Day 7: Free Day.

Superboy, Knockout & the Suicide Squad in Superboy vol 4 #13
Was talking about this with @flyingrichardgrayson and had to share:
My newest DC OC is Kaipo “Kai” Makoa, the nephew of Sam Makoa from the 1994 Superboy run.
Conner Kent meets him when he’s on a trip to Hawaii for nostalgia’s sake, after he’s started living with the Kents in Smallville.
Kai asks him on a date and he’s flustered cos a guy has never asked him out before, and he says as much and Kai’s just like “Well, that’s not a no” so Conner goes with it (this is after another headcanoned event where Conner saves a gay classmate from bullies and starts to question himself) and enjoys himself
After they start dating, they’re talking about superheroes and Kai mentions “My uncle used to tell me stories about working with Superboy! I used to think he was this big shot ladies’ man but once I hit sixteen, I realized how big the age gap was for all the women my uncle said Superboy dated and now I just feel sad for him” and obviously Conner asks why, and Kai responds with “Well, he’s a teenager, right? He can’t be more than 18 now, and back then he was even younger. They were grooming him. That’s sexual assault.” Conner freaks out and blurts out “what the FUCK do you mean I was sexually assaulted?” and Kai doesn’t realize he means he’s Superboy, he just assumes that Conner had similar experiences. Either way he helps Conner through realizing how fucked up his relationships with Tana and Knockout were
Kai is in an aspiring punk band. He goes on long rants about music that Conner doesn’t understand. He idolizes Pansy Division for being openly queer and he wants to follow in their footsteps, except he also writes songs about superheroes cos he thinks it’s a fun subject. He has a ton about the Super Family that makes Conner extremely embarrassed. His best song is “King Shark Eats Ass”
He makes a ton of mixtapes for Conner and Conner tries to make him some in return but all of Conner’s music taste is garbage
His uncle Sam recognizes Conner immediately but doesn’t tell Kai. He does confront Conner though and they have a good talk about how he doesn’t want to see either boy get hurt
It takes Kai forever to learn Conner is Superboy, and Conner’s barely trying to hide it. This is after Clark revealed his identity to the world, and Kai has seen pictures of Clark with Conner on Conner’s phone and still not put it together
He’s a TALL BOI!!! Taller than Conner which Conner is baffled by but still appreciates
Sam and Kai gossip about superheroes all the time because Sam has met some of them and Kai finds it fascinating
Sam has sent “King Shark Eats Ass” to King Shark. King Shark loved it
When Kai learns Conner is Superboy, he just puts his hand on his shoulder and says “Get therapy, bro” and Conner chokes on his laughter
