Ok, not sure if it counts as a headcanon or fanon, but... Here's mine for Spider-Man 2. I think Peter Parker was depressed. Everything in his life was going to shit: fired from his second job (the pizza one), the job he has for the Daily Bugle barely had him making ends meet, Harry is pissed at him (and that's considering he doesn't know Peter is Spider-Man yet), MJ (Mary-Jane Watson) is engaged to his boss' son... Yeah, I have a strong feeling that the loss of his powers was tied to his MH. Or at the very least, it was a psychosomatic thing.
