Costume differences in Catherine Zuber’s design for My Fair Lady 2018 Broadway Revival.

Row 1: Eliza’s Without You dress. When the production first came to Broadway, Lauren Ambrose wore a blue version of this dress. It was very quickly switched out for the pink version, worn by Lauren Ambrose, Laura Benanti, Shereen Ahmed, and understudies.

Row 2: Freddy Eysnford Hill. During On the Street Where You Live, both Jordan Donica and Christian Dante White wore their gloves from the Ascot Gavotte. On the tour, Sam Simahk has forgone the gloves, only wearing them during Ascot.

Row 3: Eliza’s Rain in Spain dress. Lauren Ambrose’s dress featured a distinct dark green sash around the waist. Both Laura Benanti and Shereen Ahmed’s dresses do not feature the sash. Laura’s dress also had a white “undershirt” while on Lauren and Shereen’s dresses it was cream.

Row 4: Higgins’s Covent Garden outfit. On tour, Laird Mackintosh wore a purple tie as opposed to Henry Hadden-Paton’s yellow tie. The pattern is similar but not the same.

Row 5: Eliza’s Covent Garden dress. When Laura Benanti took over from Lauren Ambrose on Broadway, she didn’t wear the blue shawl Lauren did. When Shereen Ahmed became principal Eliza on tour she resumed wearing the shawl.

Left: Jordan Donica was principal on Broadway opposite from March 2018 to January 2019. Acted opposite Lauren Ambrose, Laura Benanti, and understudies.

Center: Christian Dante White took over as principal in January 2019 and continued until the show closed July 2019. Acted opposite Laura Benanti and understudies.

Right: Sam Simahk is principal Freddy on the North American tour. The tour started December 2019 and is set to run until August 2020. Acted opposite Shereen Ahmed.
