HANOK VILLAGE - SEOUL, KOREA - travel destination listing 1
A bit of the past kept in a city bustling in a present that already seems to know the future, Hanok Village is a must-see for anyone in Seoul.
It’s origins date back to the Joseon Dynasty, where those of nobility and those who attain high ranking in the government would stay. They would make up the consonant residents of Hanok Village for most of it’s time, but later, due to war, disasters, and change, it’s residents evolved to be everyday commoners rather than nobility.
While you cannot view the interior unless you booked a guesthouse, you can probably see from these photos that the exterior itself is worth seeing in person.
This free attraction located in one of Seoul’s most culturally-thriving neighbourhoods is not one I would want to miss in any future endeavours to Seoul.
Keep your eyes open to the world.
