We’ll, this is late. I’ve been so absorbed with robot competition that I didn’t get to submit in time to meet the deadline. Nonetheless, I figured the prompt was still fun and has me actively sketching. One of the rules for this submission was no AI generated work. I haven’t even tried AI yet, but how are you guys feeling about AI generated artwork? I just saw that Adobe Firefly is In beta. I can see how it might be helpful for comping up some ideas to share, BUT … it kind of bums me out that the hand skills that I’m put so much time and effort into learning, practicing and honing can be replaced with a couple of word prompts or copied and pasted image prompts. It economically devalues hand work. Why would any business pay for talent when they can type in a couple of words and then ‘share’ someone else’s art style to generate something ‘original’ in no time and at little to no cost. That’s not the way it’s supposed to work with AI, but you’re kidding yourself if you don’t think that’s not gonna happen.
