Let's do this~ #saltlakecomiccon #fanxsaltlake (at Salt Lake City, Utah)
OKAY, NEW RULE. If I get an ask that starts with “what’s your opinion on this post?”, then I’m probably going to not answer it.
I need to take a step back and realize that I’m being linked to posts I have no context for, I’m being asked to engage in arguments or discussions that I don’t have a firm root in or solid concept of. I don’t use Tumblr nearly as much as I used to, and I can’t be expected to know the encompassing conversations that are happening underneath and around the posts I’m linked to.
And maybe it’s partially my own fault for feeling like I’m being “put on the spot”. Sometimes I’m just answering an ask just for the sake of answering it, without stopping to research first, which is just bad business. Sorry for that. I really don’t have the same amount of time to spend digging around in this stuff like I used to, but that’s no excuse for shoddy research.
Finally, I should really only be engaging with the conversation if I have something to add to the post in question. It’s kind of dumb to just look at a post and then give an opinion about someone else’s opinion. Not only is that narrow-minded, but doing so makes it easy to take MY words out of context, or worse, put me “on a side”. People like taking answers at face value so they can be used as fodder or ammunition to further their cause, and if my words are doing that, I could be contributing to a hurtful argument or setting off a time bomb that might come back to explode in my own face. I don’t want that.
So yeah. No more “what’s your opinion on this post” posts. Ask me to recommend you some cartoons instead! I’ve seen over 200 different shows according to my Big Fat List, and I’m bound to know of a show worth checking out for ya!
You should all follow me on snapchat. Im pretty hilarious
yo I made an Instagram if anyone cares
